Ok... It's September 10 and I haven't seen any new or exciting information about this year's celebration of Fountain Pen Day on November 1, 2013.

Where's the buzz? Or am I missing something?

I didn't either! We must celebrate! Where are my dancing shoes? :D

No, that's not blood. That's Noodler's Antietam.

I didn't know there was an official Fountain Pen Day. Seems to me that a celebration is in order!

Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.

Just like Tom Aquinas I celebrate fountain pens everyday. Now which one did I order today?

Kind regards,

Rui

Oh to be well "ap-pointed" on November the first.

Just thought of something. What's your pen's birthday? Do you have a party or celebrate by matching it with a new "paper-mate"?

Just my .02 cents worth...

A grey day is really a silver one that needs Your polish!

OK OK ... Im here... lol

It is alive and well...

The site has been being updated regularly, the blog is rolling along. FaceBook and Twitter have been used to update and announce events as well as special sales Vendors are having etc.

I have been doing YouTube reviews as fast as I can to help promote the day World Wide.

The many many companies that are celebrating has grown and the larger companies are jumping in as well.

Just this week I was contacted by Cross Pens about celebrating with us.

Some new #'s

FaceBook is at just under 1,000 likes

Twitter is at almost 450 followers

YouTube has just under 500 followers and over 30,000 video views!

I could really use some help setting up the Wiki page if there is anyone out there who knows how to use it.

ANY help is very much appreciated....

A logo is in desperate need !!!

When it comes to the site and updates there as well as the layout Aaron of Zeller Writing Company deserves all the credit as he has spent a LOT of time updating it and its layout as well as adding in resized logos of the sponsors.

PLEASE if you don't see a company you use let them know to contact us to support the day!

Remember and think about this.... There is a Ballpoint Pen Day and has been for a while yet till just last year there was no Fountain Pen Day.

I remember Googling "Fountain Pen Day" last year in July and there was ZERO info ... now Google it and see what comes up.

We also have secured the big 3 names for it as well. The .com .org & .net all redirct to the site.

Also, TMLee is working on the 2nd edition FPD journal. Last years was beautiful !

And... Liegh Reyes just may have something in store for us as well...

Lastly.. Aaron and I have NOT taken any donations or gifts etc... this is done simply out of a love for the Pen and spreading the word that it is very much alive and well.

I have never set-up a Wiki page from scratch but I have done edits on some. I could give it a try. There appears to be a standard format to the "day" pages. Take a look at International Talk Like A Pirate Day . I could handle most of the text but I would need you to provide the short history section. Is the name National or International Fountain Pen Day?

If the Wiki is done it would be a first, vis-a-vie "writing day" pages. There is no Wiki page for National Handwriting Day (Jan 23 - John Hancock's birthday), National Ballpoint Day (June 10 - the day the Biro brothers filed their patent in 1943), National Pencil Day (March 30 - the day in 1858 that Hyman Lippman filed the patent for putting an eraser on the end of a pencil) or International Correspondence Writing Month (InCoWriMo February- started by FPGeeks and I don't know the significance of Februrary).
