What Is A Good Iron Gall Ink?

ESSRI. In a fatter nib it's almost magical watching the first word of the sentence darken as you're writing the fifth word.

This is another ink that I've never had as part of my Fade Tests. The next time you ink up with it, can you mail me a written sample so I can add it to the 2014 test?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Pharmacist on this network makes excellent iron gall inks, and very reasonable prices.

I bought three colours from him, and they are all exquisite.

Hmm.... Two of the inks were included in the 2012 test, but none were submitted this year. If you wanted to send samples for next year, I would be happy to include them. (Hint Hint)

I personally don't intend to leave my writing out in the sun for 5 months ;)

I am currently using R&K Salix and have been surprised that it is such a medium blue. I had expected something closer to a blue-black like the old Lamy BB. Salix does behave well.

I think Akkerman #9 is an IG. Is that correct?

#10 is the iron gall.

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

Yep, you are correct. Hey, if anyone can provide a written sample of that one, I'll post it up too.
