Just read the circular for the week of September 8 - 14. Staples is offering a 40% on ARC notebooks and (I think) accessories. Not sure if this offer includes the United Kingdom.

See image of ad and check the Staples site for coupons or they are probably in the weekly circulars. BTW, please let me send me an PM here on FPN, know if I am violating any copyright issues by posting a copy of this ad and I will delete it if I can do so.

No affiliation, just love sharing good discount news.

Good luck and enjoy... :bunny01: :bunny01:   :bunny01: :bunny01:

I'm still new to how much a difference paper makes when writing with a pen, so are the ARC notebooks particularly good for fountain pen users? Or are they a "notebook - kit" style of thing?

Thanks for sharing the details. It looks like a good discount.

My experience with the ARC paper has been pretty positive. The nibs I have used are EF/F/M/ Stub and a 580 CI (cursive italic) from Pendleton.

Typically I use the EF or F with a wide variety of inks. My only real negatives are occasional bleed through and some shadowing if I am using the stub/CI or M.

The other thing is that I purchased an ARC multi-sheet punch and often use other than ARC paper. I like the Crane 100% cotton and some 28# copy paper as well.

If you want, you can purchase a bunch of stuff now and only open one package of paper. Use that with your different pens and inks. If you don't like the way they work together, return the unopened stuff for cash or credit as long as you have your receipts. Your risk is about $2-3.00 for the trial paper.

The arc paper that I've used has all been very fountain pen friendly. It's thick and heavy so ghosting and bleedthrough is almost nonexistant, and the surface is smooth. I've tried both the graph paper and the ruled paper.

Seriously wishing this was the case in UK Staples too!

How much would it be to get someone in the US to post me a punch...? Probably after postage, not worth it, eh?

I made it to Staples today and I picked up a notebook and a pack of refill paper and the punch. They were completely out of the normal size rings (do they wear out?), but they did have extra large rings, though I didn't find any notebooks that would use the extra large rings.

So it turns out the coupon is only 40% off for the notebooks themselves, none of the addon bits. I was going to buy a punch and send mail it for you, but sadly no discount AND it turns out the thing is enormous and heavy, which is good in that it should hold up to use, but it wouldn't be cheap to mail. Sorry.

Thankyou for checking! That's a very kind thought.

In the UK they're £25 in store, which I don't think is too bad, especially as you say it seems pretty sturdy. I'll be getting one after pay day :)

I think they run a separate sale coupon for the accessories but only once or twice per year. I am keeping an eye out for it to use to get the punch. I too checked this week and found out it was only for the binder "starter notebook" so I decided to hold off on dropping $48.00 for the punch and hold out for a coupon.

All the Arc notebooks can use all the different size rings. It's just a matter of how thick you want the notebook.
