Sent My Lamy In For Repair...

Sent my Lamy 2000 w/ med nib in for repair about a week ago...how soon can I expect it back?

I've emailed Bob Nurin multiple times but he has not responded yet - is this normal?

For those interested my nib had skipping problems and wasn't very smooth.

I sent mine in earlier this year with a cracked barrel. I think I had it back within a week, good as new. Lamy CS in the U.S. has, as far as I know, a pretty good reputation.

 

p.s. FWIW, if/when you screw the section back into the barrel, make absolutely certain that the little ears on the metal ring are securely in their corresponding little slots. Mine weren't, and when I tightened the section, bad things happened.

Three weeks ago, I sent for repair a 2000 which would no longer post and a Safari with a feed I had broken while trying to increase ink flow. Had them both back in a week and a half. The 2000 had been completely replaced except for my original BB nib. The Safari had a complete new front end. The charge for both was quite reasonable.

I also recently sent in a lamy 2000 for a nib exchange: it came back in less than a week. Filofax's service was just terrific.

 

But I was in contact not with Bob (who did the nib exchange itself) but with Anthony and one other person at Filofax. Both were very helpful.

UPDATE: Just got my pen back today and I'm very pleased with it. Couldn't read Bob's repair notes (his handwriting is a bit illegible) but it seems he replaced the feed and the nib. Now it writes a lot smoother and doesn't skip at all!

Filofax's service is outstanding. I received my pencil back from them today - less than a week after I sent it.

 

Bob walked me through the repair over the phone, gave some recommendations and returned it in perfect working order.
