Caution! Don´t try this with a current M600 nail, you would probably destroy it !!!

ok, whatever floats your boat. :)

but I am surprised at this information, I have examples from the entire souveran range, So my data point is that I don't find any difference between the nibs of a modern M600 Vs M400.

I hope this helps.

Best

Hari

I heard that story also, just from FPN, someone had compared modern m200 m400 and m600 nibs, the conclusion is m400 nails~~ though I have both m400 and m600 white, I have to say my m600 writes better, but to springiness, I don't know. I bid a pelikan 400nn pen and pencil set from ebay today, hope that will surprise and please me~

The 600 nib will fit the 400 and 200 as well as the 150.

There is NO difference in length between the 200, 400 and 600. The 150 nib is slightly shorter.

Sorry, but that information is incorrect. The current M600 nib is longer than the M200 & M400 nibs by approx 1.5mm.

The pre-1997 M600 nib is the same size as the other two (this version of the M600 was the same overall size as the M200, M250 and M400 pens). Was this the model you were thinking of?

The "old" M600 nib are indeed quite springy. In my experience, the modern M600 and M400 write in te same way.

I was talking to nibs.com about an m200 demonstrator and gold nib. They use to put in the m250 single tone nib, but due to supply they no longer do this. Also it was a custom modification due to it having to sit lower ( what was done to achieve this, you would have to ask ).

But the m400 nib is an easy fit with no adjusting needed. - it also gives the flexibility of being able to change nibs easily.

If you are truly set on an m600 nib you might want to ask them as to the pro's and cons.

Have fun

I would expect that the nib from a modern M700 Toledo can fit in an M200, because it appears to be the same size as the nib that is on an M400.

If you have an M700 from before 1997, with the earlier (slightly-differently-shaped) nib, I wouldn't be as sure.
You could try it, but if you do I would advise you to re-cap the pen only v-e-r-y  s-l-o-w-l-y!

I hope that somebody else can give you a definitive answer

Don't take a chance.  Measure.

You can use two bamboo coffee stirrers or something similar.  One to the inside end of the inner cap, the other catches the edge of the inner cap.    Hold them together in that position, and put the forward one on the edge of the section.  If the inner cap is deep enough, the second one should clear the tip of the nib.  It doesn't have to be by much, it just as to clear it.

IMO, what a waste of a 200, to ruin it with a modern post' 97 semi-nail 600 nib.

The 200's nib is a 'soft' springy regular flex..........and if you are lucky and get an old NOS or used teardrop, '85-2019 one; you also get a nice clean line. The double ball nib IMO is a nib that with luck, skates a woolly line. It is not as clean a line as a tear drop nib.

In this case gold is no 'softer' than the steel or gold plated 200's nib. The post '97 600 is a semi-nail, not a nice soft springy regular flex 200's nib.

If you have to go gold....As good and matching the 200 is the gold '82-97 400 or 600's nib. A 200's nib is affordable....and one can get 4 or so of them for the price of one gold nib.

That tear drop 200's nib is a real grand nib............not the double ball nibs.

....................

Another grand gold nib is the '50-65 400-400NN's factory stubbed semi-flex nib.

But normally one leaves it on the 400 it is on.
