What Parker Are You Using This Day?

This morning's journal entry was with the Silver Pearl Vac Major, F (?) nib, with (by this point possibly somewhat diluted) Diamine Grey -- an ink that I'm really becoming quite fond of, although it won't ever replace De Atramentis Silver Grey in my affection.... This evening I was making some notes with one of the Vectors, M nib, with De Atramentis Document Fuchsia (still trying to make up my mind about the ink -- it's got showthrough issues on cheap paper, but is a really nice color).

The fuschia may not be for a law office, but it's a great color. I'll bet it would harmonize nicely with the grays you mention.

I'm in a Vacumatic phase too, a golden pearl. Its colors, design, feel - everything about it is soothing.

D'A Document Fuchsia *is* a nice color. I'm just not crazy about the behavior (both it and the Document Turquoise have really bad spread issues).

Today's Parker was the 61 that I bought last year at DCSS, currently filled with J Herbin Eclat de Saphir. I haven't entirely gotten used to the capillary filler (I can't tell how long I'm supposed to keep the end of it in the ink bottle) but it certainly seems to work -- this is the first time I've used the pen since last winter, when I would flush it with just enough distilled water to get it started, and then continued to write with what had been in the pen previously, till I got to the point that it was too diluted to be legible (but that took about four MONTHS or so...).

I refilled the pen late afternoon/early evening on Thursday, after initially filling it a couple of weeks ago, and have used it a fair amount since then. Not sure of what the nib size is (I'm guessing either F or M) but I'm starting to like the pen a whole lot. Won't replace the Plummer 51 Demi for "my favorite pen", but it is a nice size for my hand and the capillary filler is pretty cool. This is a pen that I think is going to see a lot of use -- because like the 51, and like the Vac Major I was using yesterday morning , it seems to be designed for writing a lot at a single sitting without a lot of fuss and fiddling around with (yet also doesn't seem to get cloggy or dry out if it sits a few days).

It's been a variety:

51 Plum Demi (M?) -- Noodler's Purple Heart

61 Black (M?) -- J Herbin Eclat de Saphir

Vac Major Silver Pearl (F?) -- Diamine Grey (which might be diluted at this point)

Vector Black (either the F italic, or the stub) -- Parker Penman Sapphire (cartridge)

Parker Challenger (Green marble?) -- Sheaffer Blue

Olive 45 (say "I love olive" with a Southern accent)

When I received this pen, I soaked and soaked and soaked. I couldn't get it to write. It sat, ignored, for about two weeks while I pouted. This morning I uncapped it and it writes like a silky dream. So it is for sure the pen du jour.

I have exceeded my allotted disk space, so here are links to Flickr:

Ink is Quink 'Blue' - the scan makes it look like the ink gets lighter, but it's just the scan.

NOS 1983 15 - Quink Washable Black cartridge

Hello,

I am new here and had a question, once a NOS pen is inked, is it still considered NOS? I am assuming NOS is New Old Stock.

Thank you and best regards

No, it's used. eBay has a category something to the effect of "Used, like new" to describe such a situation.
