What Parker Are You Using This Day?

Last week I bought a used Parker 25, the stainless steel one with black plastic.

I've been charmed by this pen and of course am using it now (well, not right now since I'm using a keyboard :D ).

Welcome to the 25 club! A pen one either loves or hates, I love them myself...

Congratulations , James , on your new Duofold Centennial. A beatiful pen. I expect mine to arrive soon.

Thank you, Khan. It's a non-poster, just too long and unbalanced. I love the nacreous quality of the white, but the black veining is not as gracefully done as it good be - in my example, at least. Are you getting the pearl & black? I'd like to hear your impressions.

Yes , James. I am getting the pearl & black. And yours looks good too. James , be happy with what you have got. It is really a nice looking great pen.

Didn't mean to sound unhappy - just being analytical/critical. Isn't that part of the reason why we're here?

I meant to say "...not as graceful as it could be." I mispronounced my typing!

Yes , James. I am sorry. I think I was a little blunt saying be happy with what you have got. You are quite right. To be analytical and critical is one of the reasons we are here.

I was in Karachi last week in connection with some official business and availed the oppotunity to visit some vintage pen ahops there. Found NOS 51s, 61s , 45s Insignia , Duofolds, Sheaffer targas, Imperials , Watermans and a lot more. Would pm you soon.

Today, a Parker 50 Falcon, stainless steel with a fine italic nib from Susan Wirth. It's rapidly becoming my favourite pen.

Today's Parker will be my "new" Parker 51 in midnight blue, one of the first Aerometric fillers. Lovely smooth fine nib, currently filled with Pelikan's Königsblau.

A talented man! I can only write right-handed, not left or with my feet...

My perennial favourite - my grandfather's Parker 51 - and my current fixation - a 1939 Parker Vacumatic (with the very satisfying all-metal filler bits).
