What Parker Are You Using This Day?

This morning my journal entry was with the new-to-me Brown Shadow Wave Debutante (that's how it was labeled -- I need to measure to be sure, but it does have the chevron design cap band) that I picked up over the weekend at the Ohio Pen Show. Gorgeous little pen. It was supposed to be in working condition, so I tried filling it with distilled water last night, just to be sure -- and blue came out! Dunno what the ink is (color sort of reminds me of Herbin's Eclat de Saphir, but of course it's fairly diluted at this point). I guess trying it out with the vintage Quink Brown will have to wait.

Can't tell for sure if it's an F or EF nib, but it writes very nicely. With some research last night, I've narrowed it down date-wise to between 1938 and 1942 (it's a double-jewel model Speedline filler, but unfortunately part of the imprint is worn down so I can't see a date code).

It was a tad more pricy than some of the Emerald Pearl Vacs I saw, but somehow the pen just spoke to me. I dunno what it is -- every time I think there's an Emerald Pearl in my future I get sidetracked by something else.... http://www.4smileys.com/smileys/thinking-smileys/think_smiley_24.gif and over the weekend it was the Brown Shadow Wave Deb.

Still using the '47 Parker 51 vac I just repaired. So far, everything is holding up pretty nicely.

Great looking pen! Can't beat basic black.

A beautiful Parker Victory.

That is perfect. Wow!

I am using "Helen Tessman", a '46 grey 51 vac with GF cap. Good ole Helen is my normal shirt-pocket pen. Also using a 51 special desk pen, the first desk pen I ever set up at work.

I'm using my newly acquired '47 Vac Major in Silver Pearl that I picked up over the weekend at the Ohio Pen Show. It's my first vac, and first vintage gold nib.

Inked with Sailor Yama-Dori.

So far, I'm loving it.

I used a P51 Areo desk pen to write out a few bills and a Parker Challenger

to leave a note to mother when I serviced her snow blower to tell her it is ready for winter.
