That's interestin'. I don't remember ever seeing a P51 vac with metal filler threads. Post this if you want to get info on it...

Parker "51" Vacumatic prewar {1st year '41} had Aluminium filler units

i. e. retaining collar and inner collar. In 1942..Al became a strategic material

and wartime Vacumatic pens Vacs,51,& Duofold utilized plastic retaining collars and or inner

collars. Personally I have only seen a handful..perhaps the plastic didn't

hold up well or when some heavy handed folks tried to replace diaphragm they were destroyed. After the war..black anodized Al was used once again {1945-1948}.

Today it was a chocolate 1950 Victory Mk IV. Interestingly, a colour not mentioned by Parkerpens.net. I have two, so they must have been a fairly common pen.

A made in India Parker Sonnet Matt black with Chrome trim and medium nib.

In India 2 versions of this pen (silver and gold) are being made available again at good price I feel (55-65$)

Does the pen say 'INDIA' on the cap (or anywhere else)? I have a india made Sonnet Firedance that has no mention of country of origin/manugacture.

Hi

No the pen itself does not say made in India, but the pen packaging and box says so - made in India by a company called Luxor (this same companies also manufactures waterman pens in India; also is sole distributor for all parker and waterman brand products)

On the Cap its says Parker Sonnet France (Not - "Made in France")

If it says FRANCE on the cap then the pen is made in France (for Indian market) and not in India. The packaging/box and literature may have been made/printed in India. The 'made in India Sonnet' don't have the mention either of India or France on it.

Further, Sonnets made in FRANCE don't have "MADE IN FRANCE" on them. They just have FRANCE on the cap like on yours.

Greetings all,

I am very excited about this pen, I think it is gorgeous!

It is in the style of the Parker 51 Vacumatic, made by Ariel Kullock.

The workmanship is outstanding and motive, a giant squid squirting black ink is charming.

It also is engraved with "Black Pen Society". Age unknown.

I filled it with Diamine Onix Black; any other color would have been inappropriate.

It writes with good flow and will make a great daily user.
