One of the black Vectors, the one with what appears to be a homemade regrind to make it a stub. I've got Diamine Passion Red in it.

Thanks! An English Duofold is a penny well spent ;)

Eli, where do you find these?

Today it was the Parker Vac Red Shadow Wave, with its usual diet of Waterman Mysterious Blue.

A Parker 65. I don't use it very much, so it's back in rotation now I've gotten through my Kaigelu 316's ink. If I could erase all memory of a rather vexing restoration, I'd quite like this pretty pen that has a good balance in the hand and writes nicely.

Plenty of them on fleabay.

Personally, I'm wary considering ebay. My experiences have been soso. Scored some pretty good deals, but others, oh my.

I think it eventually levelled out though.

Of my three Duofolds, only one needed a minor nib adjustment. The other two were perfect writers out of the box. And all three were fleabay bargains.

Cousin, how did this P25 acquire the name "al Mutanabi"?

Let us know the background story.

Salams cousin, "Almutanabi" is the subject of the drawing, the pen is just an ordinary Parker 25.

Thank you, cousin, for the expalanation.

I am using a Parker 61 C/C in Insignia finish. Inked with Waterman Intense Black. The pen has a fat juicy broad nib.

Today, it's my beloved 61 Flighter with the xf nib. The pen's in the process of transitioning from Aurora Blue to Eclat de Saphir, and it needs the use.

Also - my Christmas present from my Father: a pair of aerometric 51 Demi's, both with fine nibs, one inked with Cacao de Bresil, one with Blue Velvet. (Yes, 2 of them - he says he's noticed I always need more than one color of ink!) (Dad for the Win: Best Christmas Present Of The Year!)

As kids, some girls wanted to be princesses. I wanted to be Morticia Addams. Or Nikola Tesla. Preferably both.

You definitely need more than one color of ink!

Today I'm using these:

Parker "51" demi, Plum with medium nib using Parker Quink Permanent Blue

Parker "51" demi, Burgundy with medium nib using Parker Quink Permanent Black

A Parker Vector.

Yep.

You sound as if that's a bad thing....

I LOVE my Vectors. I have a bunch of them. They're a little thin for long writing sessions -- I wouldn't use one for writing the Great American Novel. But mine are little workhorses.

It used to be a bad thing. But now things have turned out for the better. I had many opportunities on getting nicer Parkers... that's all.

I've got three Parkers in my jacket pocket today, somewhat unusually ...

... with three very different nibs, too ...
