Name Change: Should A Kultur Be Called Simply "phileas"?

jaqcp - I've been waiting for someone who has tried both to reply. While waiting for that, I'll say I have never heard anyone complain about the performance of the Kultur. It is priced lower than the Phileas, all things considered, but I have heard no claims that Kultur's nib is inferior. Phileas has a two-tone nib, but the gold is immeasurably thin plating at best. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kultur nib is functionally identical. But I should end the conjecture there and let someone who has tried both to weigh in. Enjoy whatever you choose. -- TD

I have both: a blue marble Phil with a M nib that writes like a B-garden-hose...and a Kultur demonstrator with an F nib that really does write on the dry side.

It could be the difference between nib sizes. But though I like the Kultur well enough, the Phil looks and 'feels' more expensive.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.
