Show Me Your Brown Pens

I love the look of (most) brown pens. Especially vintage esterbrook and parker vacumatic pens. I would like to see who else makes good looking brown pens. I have just discovered I like brown pens so I don't have any to share but I'm on the hunt for some!

No shortage of vintage brown pens, except maybe Parker. The Esterbooks and vacumatics coincide with the second world war years. Waterman's browns of those years are particulary attractive, mixed with yellow, or black. Likewise striated Sheaffers. And, of course, some sun bleached hard rubber pens are an attractive shade of brown. You would probably like vintage brown Quink. I use it in a brown copper coloured Esterbrook now and again.

Not vintage pens, but I have two to share. In the first photo, the pen in the center is an Omas Mueller, which uses a wood grain appearance celluloid. In the second photo, the pen on the right is a Pelikan M800 Tortoise.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Nice photos everyone put up. I especially liked the picture of that Parker that jar posted.

I was going to say that I don't have any brown pens, but then I remembered that I have a couple of Esterbrook Js, that I guess would be the copper/root beer.

Early Pel 400 from Rick Propas. The writing sample is with Iroshizuku Tsukushi ink. Rick suggested I try MB Toffee; I'll get a bottle at the Boutique on my next trip to the mall.

Well... Product photography isn't my specialty, but here's the only brown pen I own, and, interestingly enough, the only Ebonite pen I own. It's this year's Limited Edition Fountain Pen Network Group Buy from Edison Pens. It's the Edison Morgan in Brown Swirl (is that the right term for the material?) with gold accents. I have a Fine, Full Flex nib on order from Richard Binder as well so it'll be living on this pen as soon as it gets here.

Enjoy.
