FPNers,

I have quite a bit of HP 32lb Premium Choice paper that I'd like to offer to the FPN community, mailing samples to those who are interested in trying the paper out. Just send me a PM with your address. I think I can fit three sheets in an envelope. There is one caveat, I am affiliated with International Paper, the manufacturer. I work at the facility where we manufacture it in upstate NY.

Very cool to know it's manufactured in upstate NY! :) It's one of my favourite papers.

Hi Andres,

Could you answere a technical question for me?

I have been experimenting with HP Premium Choice 24 lb paper and have noticed that one side of the paper feathers more than the other side does.

This has happened with some other papers as well.

Can you explain why this is?

Thanks

Joe

There are several things that can affect this and I might not have the full answer but I'll give it a shot. The 24 lb that you refer to is made on several types of machines but the main causes for this can be how the paper drained on the machine. If it drains too fast, one side of the sheet would have more filler/ash than the other, which would make react differently one side vs the other. Another thing that can happen is uneven sizing.

Which 24lb paper are you working with? LaserJet or Bright White?

Excellent paper!!

Love the weight and brightness. No show through even with the most saturated of all colors. The colors really are vivid.

All inks that I had in pens behaved beautifully.

And my Baystate Blue did not feather at all- which thrilled me to no end.

Great stuff. Think I will have some cut and made into pads.
