Bad Transaction Experience With Ebayer Toshi_G

BE CAREFUL! Declining the seller's request to cancel the transaction WITHOUT having filed your own dispute may make it impossible for you to file a dispute at all.

 

I STRONGLY urge you to read about seller's requests to cancel transactions at http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/cancel-transaction-process.html as this provides evidence that a seller can request to cancel a transaction due to a "mistake in the listing". After that, you can contact eBay Customer Service for guidance (if desired) on how to proceed BEFORE you do anything about the seller's request to cancel the transaction.

 

Keep in mind that if you state as your reason for declining the seller's request to cancel the transation that you are going to KEEP the pen then you must KEEP the pen -- returning the pen will NOT be an option at that point as you will have stated via the eBay system that you are going to keep the pen! There are not multiple reasons available as responses for a dispute or a request to cancel a transaction -- other than accepting a partial refund, you are either KEEPING or NOT KEEPING the item. Once you state that you are KEEPING the pen, you cannot file a dispute to RETURN the pen or to demand a partial refund! Disputes do not work that way!

 

Again, please be careful not to close the seller's request to cancel the transaction by refusing to return the pen as this means that you are keeping the pen; read about requests to cancel transactions at http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/cancel-transaction-process.html as this provides the steps that sellers must follow.

 

BEFORE responding to the seller's request to cancel the transaction:

(1) you may TRY to initiate your own dispute but the eBay system may not allow you to do so since the seller has initiated a request to cancel the transaction; then

(2) CALL eBay Customer Service if the eBay system will not allow you to initiate a dispute and discuss how to proceed; customer service may direct you to http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/cancel-transaction-process.html to read about seller-requests to cancel transactions. If the eBay system will not allow you to initiate a dispute (BEFORE responding to the seller's request to cancel the transaction) then you must use the seller's request to cancel the transaction to get your money back.

 

In the end, it truly does not matter who initiates the request to cancel or dispute for the transaction as you want to return the item and receive a full refund. Keep in mind that if the full refund comes as a result of a request to cancel the transaction initiated by the seller or a dispute filed by you (the buyer), the desired outcome (a full refund) will have been achieved.

 

NO MATTER WHAT, when returning the pen -- only when directed to do so via the eBay Resolution Center process -- make sure that you use signature confirmation (signed-for) mail with a tracking number and insurance. You must enter the tracking number and insurance number into the eBay system as part of the Resolution Center process. eBay will track the return of the pen just as you will and this provides the necessary EVIDENCE that the pen was returned to and received by the seller.

 

 

Disputes have well-defined steps, one of which is the return of the item BUT ONLY when stated through by eBay through the Resolution Center process.

 

You can use the eBay Online Customer Support http://ocsnext.ebay.com/ocs/home? to look up information (and ask questions) about the Resolution Center, the Resolution Center process, disputes, and seller-requests to cancel transactions.

I sent him the cancellation request because he said he wants to return the pens but he didn't start the case.

Unfortunately he didn't understand what the cancellation request is about and he got really mad at me because of that too.

I have no much experience in such ebay dispute, although I have over 300 positive feedback.

Most pen businessmen are trustworthy, that is why I don't know how to handle such case.

Yes, I trusted you before, I trusted your high positive feedback, so I bought two pens.

But look at me, what I got, got two used pen, and one is name-engraving.

Oh, yes, I got another, I got your OPPORTUNITY to refund the pen.

A normal person would not say such word after he/she cheating others, right?

 

Do you still remember, I discussed with you "full refund includes this shipping fee(from Hong Kong to USA), right?

Why I changed my mind? Why I got mad? because of such "GIVE ME OPPORTUNITY".

YOU DID THE WRONG THING, THEN STILL GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY??

 

Ebay customer service told me to cancel your request, because you have to refund me first.

I did it.

 

If you really want to solve this problem, refund me first, I will send the pen back to you.

Returning and refunding a transaction is not about trust anymore.

Ebay has a very good dispute system in order to use in case of returning an item.

You have to start a case with the cause of returning the item. (the same that you declined, i can't open a dispute again, now only you can start it, Go to Resolution Center -> Cancel Transaction and Return item

At this time I have to agree that I let ebay refund your money as soon as I received the pens, paypal will put a hold on the money in this moment before I get the pens and we will see the open case and we both can track the package.

After I got the pens ebay will automatically refund you.

No more hassle, it's that easy.

 

If you want to refund then please open the case asap.

You should only accept the cancellation request if you haven't paid yet or you've already received your refund from the seller. If you haven't received your refund, contact the seller - opens in a new window or tab

 

You have paid and you haven't recieved your refund. DO NOT ACCEPT. Decline and state the reason as "I have not recieved my refund."

 

Then you can handle it through a Buyer dispute, as it should have been handled.

I tried to be nice to you.

You said you will contact ebay about how to do the return and I said Okay, I will wait Do your best. (you took it as an assault)

Did you contact ebay?

 

The ebay dispute system might looks hard first time but it is pretty easy and makes the entire process secured for both of us.

If you don't know how to open a case/start a dispute please call ebay and they will help you about it.

 

The paypal dispute is not a big help since as far as I know we can't track the shipment there and it's not about returning the item.

You should start a dispute via ebay.

 

I always check my pens that's why the almost thousand of good feedback, it was my bad I agree and apologize.
