New Girl, Desperately Seeking Pink Ink

Hi All,

I'm new here and I'm desperately seeking pink ink. Actually, not desperately, but it's my favorite color and it's what I fill my favorite pens with (currently, it's a Diplomat Esteem, in pink of course). I was brought into the fold of pens a few years ago and since then I've lurked around the edges, but this weekend I went to my first pen show, bought my dream pen and figured I would round out the trifecta of all that is amazing with pens and join FPN.

I would avoid Noodler's Hellfire. It is a pink highlighter ink and I had a hades of a time flushing it out of my Noodler's Pink Panther.

Pink can be sort of pale and hard to read. I've got a bottle of Diamine Cerise, and the effect is quite pinkish, even though it's really a sort of red, I guess.

Welcome! :) I can't say anything on pinks since I don't have any, but here's what I know: you can check out the swab shop at the Goulet's here to get a general idea of some more pinks out there. If you're interested in something, search it using the forum's built-in system or some other search engine (possibly using site:fountainpennetwork.com in your search if you'd like to narrow the query to just this forum) or CTRL+F through the index of ink reviews here. cybaea has also done a wonderful comparison of all Diamine inks here, which covers a wide variety of colors.

You can also ask in "Inky Thoughts" , which is one of the most active forums and home to inkophiles.

Hi and :W2FPN:

Can't help you with pink, being partly colour blind that is not a good colour for me.

But I hope you'll find a lot of inspiration.

Enjoy the forum

Noodler's Baystate Cape Cod Cranberry is one of those punch you in the eyes pink. My wife has this loaded in a Kaweco Sport Ice converted to an eyedropper as her "purse" pen.

I just happened upon this link recently which compares pink inks. Of the group, I do know that Pilot/Namiki Iroshizuku yama budo, while expensive is pretty highly regarded around here.

Pink Power to you!!

Diamine - Flamingo Pink.

BOOM...in your face pink.

Here's a link to the review on my blog. It's my favorite pink - and I didn't even know I liked pink ink until I tried some!

Hi,

Though I am not one for Pink ink, Herbin Rose Cyclamen is admired by many who 'Think Pink', including Member kushbaby who penned this note:

I'd suggest starting with Goulet's and then reading up on the inks that you like.

Meanwhile, here are some pics of inks in this year's Fade Olympics.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Another vote for Iroshizuku's Kosumosu if you're worried about stains or bad behavior in your pen. If you prefer highly saturated inks, I like Private Reserve's Arabian Rose.

Welcome!

I love pink inks and use them a lot for grading. I count Diamine Hope Pink, Iroshizuku Kosomosu, Private Reserve Arabian Rose, and Caran D'Ache Sunset as my favourites. Hope Pink is bright and cheery, Kosumosu is is softer and paler - almost a cherry blossom pink in my pens. Arabian Rose is a lovely, deep, dusky pink, and Sunset is a fiery pink with a hint of orange. J. Herbin also has a few very lovely pinks including Rouge Bourgogne which is a lovely raspberry colour.

Along with the others, I suggest checking out the Swab Shop as well as the reviews on here. I'm sure you'll find more than enough pinks to keep you busy. :)
