I saw this question before leaving for Pen Posse yesterday and almost answered, "Definitely not." Then, I thought I would ask at Pen Posse, since there have been many discussions about how to make the SF Pen Show happen, expecting a confirmation of my original answer.

 

But it sounds like there might be a Hail Mary pass in play.

 

It is mid-August. Can someone pull off the SF Pen Show in two months?

 

I say it is unlikely, but... I have seen what committed wills can achieve. So... I'm less sure now that there will not be a pen show here in October. This is turning out to be a cliffhanger.

I have e-mailed a vendor I hoped to see at the SF Pen Show, curious about whether he has had any communication from last year's sponsor.

 

I imagine it would be a challenge to get vendors lined up on such short notice.

FWIW, I'd suggest making the SF show something like the Venice Bienniale - happens every 2 years, but is the premier event of the year when it happens. IOW, look at making 2014 an absolute kick-a$$ event!

I exchanged e-mails with Bert Oser who organized the SF Pen Show the last two years. He is definitely not doing it again but says some (unidentified) others are considering organizing one.

 

Any progress with this?

Yeah. I had heard that Bert definitely wasn't interested this year.

 

I did hear that rumor, too, about someone else considering doing it, and if so, Pen Posse is certainly willing and ready to help promote it, so... TIME'S AWASTIN'!

 

We're just standing by, waiting for the word....
