Is It Possible To Increase The Flow Of A Platinum Plaisir Or Preppy?

I have a Plaisir that I would like to dedicate to Sailor Apricot ink, but it's currently too dry - this is an ink that needs a really wet nib. The ink is not one that I would use all that much, but the Plaisir has a cap that seals very well, one reason why I'd like to alter the pen rather than go with a wetter one that might allow the ink to evaporate. The section size is just right for me as well.

I have already tried spreading the tines enough so that I can see a sliver of daylight in between them them, but that had no measurable effect. I then tried enlarging the ink channel in the feed, but that had no effect either, though I don't really know much about feeds, what is the ink and what is the air channel is rather a mystery. The shape of the nib precludes being able to bend the wings up, which is the first thing I usually try to increase flow.

If I'm flogging a dead horse here, I would welcome recommendations for a cheap, wet, wide section (around 0.4") pen that seals well and weighs in under 25 grams or so. Thanks.

All the Preppies I've owned have been dry, and then the cap cracked. You can try rotating the feed or drilling the end of the cartridge piercing tube. But the feed channel underneath the nib is were the restriction is. The feeds are not really meant to be tunable.

Suggestions? Noodler's Ahab, or Conrad, if you are a hand on type. Parker Frontiers can be had on the cheap. The old Sheaffer NoNonsene in medium, or you can try a a Kaigelu 356 (at $6.00 a disposable0 They are a little heavier that the preppy, but they can be had from under $ 10.00
