Another owner!

Many congrats!

What nibsize did you get?

I ended up going with a medium point. I have been in between my love for Fines and Broads and compromised with that size.

I bought one of these last week in Birmingham for the UK price of £725 on my way to Berlin. I'm glad I bought it here because, at the exchange rate Thomas Cook gave me, €860 Berlin price is about £24 more than I paid. Great pen, love it.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just did some experimenting with a infrared camera (saw that trick in a previous topic of a fellow FPN-member, but can't recall the name at the moment)

The interesting thing is that although stated it is made of resin, the body isn't a see through as I would expect.

I also made some comparison with a 149 so you can see how a resin body would look like.

Maybe the outside of the barrel is made of resin, but underneath is a whole metal body.

I just saw this at the shop and was told that the cap was made of resin whereas the body was lacquer or whatever that means, so thats why I guess the body isn't see through. Tho KJY's pics are nice but it really didn't prepare me for how beautiful the pen really was in person. I have changed my opinion of this pen and really want it now!

I went to the boutique Saturday to check out the Heritage. I really liked the size and shape, wasn't sure about the weight (I am accustomed to using Nakayas and the Montblanc 100-Year Historical; I had to sell my Thomas Mann cos it was just too heavy anymore), and wasn't crazy about the star, that whole white cap, which I could easily overlook, I'm sure -- just not at $1,110.

The price nevertheless, I was tempted....

It's my daily writer.

Its a daily writer of mine as well. I like it so much I'm thinking of buying another around the holidays with a double broad nib.

I'm not that enthused about twisting out a nib....how ever, this nib is by far the most flexible 'springy' nib I've ever ran into.

It like the other couple of good springy nibs I have does not spread it's tines more than say twice a light downstroke,

The nib is fantastic, with the tip flex it has. I've never run into a springy nib with such 'flex'.

It is a fantastic nib.

I have a Woolf with a modern good springy nib, a 234 1/2 Deluxe ('52-55) with a great semi-flex KOB, and a 742(gold plated) ('50-52 or so) with a real nice 'flexi' nib.

That new '1912's' springy nib is as good in feel as the 700.

The 1912 is a modern nib that is worth buying.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

I agree! It's my favorite nib. I use it every day.

I remember the boutique staff specifically telling me about the nib. They told me that it was specially designed for this pen. I remember being quite surprised by how soft and springy the nib felt. I am using mine today and it is just a lovely writer.

Well, one more happy owner of a Heritage 1912; mine has a F nib.

I agree with almost everything that has been said about the pen. It writes ultra smooth, that's the best part of it.

But I really really hate this unhistorical clip. There has to be a way to remove it and end up with a black marvellous pen like the safety fillers it rends hommage to.

Does someone knows how to do that? I don't like the cliiiiiiiiipppppp... but the rest of the pen is magnificent.

There was another thread on removing the clip.
