Pics Of The Heritage 1912 (Resin Version)

I cannot find the pen listed on Montblanc USA website anymore. Does it mean it's getting close to the end of it's production run? If so, I need to grab the pen asap. Can someone please shed some insider info?

I cannot find it either on the german website...but they still had plenty in the boutique in Hamburg...so I wouldn't worry too much

It is interesting that they have come off the MB websites; maybe that is indicative of an end to production. But it seems like there are still pens available based on the posts above. Fred, this is a heavy pen, not resin, and I suspect a black lacquer.

It's a nice solid pen to hold and write with for its size. For those who want to get your hands on one, do it soon before it all runs out.

BTW, are these resin or black lacquer?

Fred

Mine has a resin shell and heavy-metal mechanics inside, I think. Edited by meiers

But the local boutiques here still do carry them but while stocks last, even for the 90th anniversary models!

The cap is very fragile. I cracked mine trying to post it.

I never posted the cap on my 1912 as I know it won't stay, so it's always on my table in standing position when I use it.

So did you send back your cap for replacement?

Yes.

Here is the cautionary tale I shared last September.

I recently was able to get a 1912 in B nib at the Frankfurt Airport MB Boutique and I recommend getting one, a very smooth writer. With the VAY refund and the comparative strength of the USD vs Euro, it turned out to be a very fortunate purchase.

It's my daily writer and still my favourite.

I almost bought this one a week ago, after about a year of pondering it. I agree that the nib is absolutely wonderful to use, and that was what really sold me on this pen. I mean, it's a good looking pen, but for me that nib is soooo smooth, and I instantly fell in love with it. That being said, for me personally, I find it just a touch on the heavy side (back heavy for me, even without posting) , and ultimately, I decided to pass on it. Happily, I picked up 2 other MBs instead that I am thrilled with, so I guess it all worked out. Of course, now that I'm reading this review on it and seeing those pics, I'm questing my judgement LOL. Am I crazy, or just addicted to pens, or both?? ;)

Wow thanks for sharing! I noted by sending back to MB in Germany takes quite a long time to return. Previously I also wanted to change the engraving on my Le Grand 161 ballpoint and took about a month to be sent back to me for collection.

On the day I went to my local MB boutique to purchase my new (and current only) FP, I was torn between the Daniel Defoe and the Heritage 1912 but on seeing the display of the Heritage collection together with the hugely expensive 1914 in both black and coral, my mind was set on the 1912.

So small and handsome-looking, it's just like a mini 1914.

A great pen. Mine is currently inked. It is among my top 2 favourite MBs-the 1912 and the 147.

I have thought about getting a 147.

Why do you rate yours so highly?

It is a very convenient pen for work. I have the case for it which holds 6 carts. The pen holds 2 so that is 8 carts worth of ink available at any time. It also lives up to its name "The Traveler". I have taken this pen on many plane rides over the last several years and have had 0 leaks or any other problems. I do a lot of writing and have found that the size and balance are just right for longer writing sessions.

It is an excellent pen with many benefits including the ease of cleaning. You just rinse cool water through the barrel for a few minutes and you are ready for a different coloured ink or to put it into storage. In short I find it very versatile and would not trade it for any other pen.
