Pics Of The Heritage 1912 (Resin Version)

Nope. Funny cos the boutique staff actually dipped it in Balzac. The colour is far too light for my liking; it's more of a baby blue. This is Diamine Asa Blue.

Thanks!

A lovely looking nib, thanks for pics.

Would you compare the nib size to a 145 or 146 or 149 - sorry to clarify I mean the width of the line the nib writes rather than the size of the nib itself.

Got this pen. My first "safety" pen. Everything is expected like most have mentioned.

Really curious about the engineering behind to make this pen safe (non leak-able).

Nib has a very faint springy feel. However, it write like all modern nibs without line variations. Beside that its really a nice pen!

Maybe I am too used to flexible vintage nibs now that modern nibs are not attractive to write anymore...

The downstroke width is similar, but on the upstroke, this nib writes much skinnier.

Basically, this is a retractable piston filler, and of course we don't expect our pistons to leak. In terms of flex, I think there's quite a lot of give for a modern pen. I'd give it a 7/10 for flex with 10 being the flexiest vintages. Oh, and all nibs B and larger should offer line variation. Medium? Depends. Fine? Rarely, but there are some out there with line variation.

The pen I write with, is the pen I use to sign my name.

  • 1 month later...

Got my F nib swap out for a BB. Fantastic nib. Really soft and flexy which I didnt expect from a BB instead.

But she is in the forum....What an experience!

To celebrate my 1.000th post on FPN I broke the seal of my second Heritage.

Really nice pen (still)

Hm, must vary from pen to pen then, mine is probably on par with my Lamy 2000 if perhaps not a bit harder.

Are all the fines a little bit harder than the larger sizes?

Don't know for the F-nibs, but both my Heritage nibs are easy to flex and feels springy.

I have just received my Heritage 1912, and I have a question: How much ink fits in the tank?

I have the impression that the first charge lasted me very little, and considering that it has a F nib.

First thing I do with a new pen is to flush with plain water a few times. Yesterday I flushed mine and counted the drops being expelled. It is about 8-10 drops of water.

Try yours and you will know it.

Lovely! I have one with a broad nib and it has exceeded expectations. Appelboom is a wonderful source: no affiliation-- learned about them in this thread.

What is that ink colour? I've tried and can't even guess-- like it a lot!

I counted 8-9 drops also. But I think the size of the drops can change with the nib; isn't it?

Visually, that's all the ink that fits in mine... sorry for the iPhone pic

Do you think this is correct? So little?

Yes, it's correct.

It's shocking to people like me who are used to writing with 149's.

Man, my 138 holds about three times the amount of ink than the Heritage. On a side note, after 9 weeks of waiting for my Heritage to come back from repairs in Germany, it arrives home tomorrow. Can't wait to have it back.
