The historical pen is quite lovely, although much lighter than the 1912. Two great pens.

Good to know. I have the 100 yr Historical pen and love it, and now crave the 1912. A little heavier would be fine I think.

I own both and find them very nice.

The 1912 was lust at first sight and was my first montblanc purchase. I crave the 100 year historical.

I just received mine this afternoon. What a beautiful pen!

I was shocked at the heaviness, especially since I knew it was on the smaller side.

Shocked at the heaviness, hmm. Is it the combined weight of the piston + retractable construction I wonder.

Well, sounds like I must visit a boutique and hold one of these things.

Yes very heavy because of all the metal internal parts...but still a lovely pen when wanting a modern pen. i just love the simple but elegant pen. Great contrast to (some) overdone modern LE.

Cheers

Got to finally try this pen at the Toronto boutique; the tester was marked as medium. Under some subtle pressure, i was able to flex the nib to a little less than a B. nice

Just bought one in a fine today :D

I'm not able to get too much line variation out of it, but the nib is an absolute joy to write with. I really really like the form factor and heft of the pen too, in my opinion the pen is absolutely perfect for me :)

It's my current favorite.

Yup, choosing a pen to keep inked up or take with me in the morning has never been so easy :cloud9:

Beautiful. Thanks for posting these pictures.

Thanks. I'm glad you liked them.

Nice, very nice line variation!

Enjoy!

That's a killer nib!

Congrats!

I'm glad the nib was ground this way. The tipping can hardly be seen on the lower surface. It sits flush with the nib, and as a result, the side profile is much slimmer than other Montblanc nibs, offering this wonderful line variation. I'll see if I can get a picture.

Very nice. Is that the Balzac ink?

Nope. Funny cos the boutique staff actually dipped it in Balzac. The colour is far too light for my liking; it's more of a baby blue. This is Diamine Asa Blue.

The pen I write with, is the pen I use to sign my name.
