Congraz for your graduation, I am in the fresh year of master degree, I am gonna to buy myself a nakaya cigar, which ceased due to the sky-high price in Singapore only authorized retailer. Then I bought a pelikan m600 white tortoise, stiff nib, not a easy going at the very beginning. Enjoy~~

It was D M Robinson in Altrincham. First time ive had a glass of champagne with a pen purchase! I bought my 149 from them in 2000 for £280 and now this 146 for £480. What a difference

Wow that is really good service. I am sure they will help you with the problem you are facing with your pen. Do let us know the outcome!

I like the new style of displaying the gold content on the nib, it looks more modern and refined. My first MB was the 145 (old style), I'm sure it'll serve you well. Congrats!

A wonderful pen that you'll keep and use your whole life with always the same pleasure while taking it in hand. Enjoy and congrats for your graduation!

I just had a thought. If I swap the nib for an EF will it be the new type or the older type with 14k on it. I might keep this M nib

If you bring it to the Montblanc boutique and tell them you want the new style Au 585 in EF they should be able to do it. Even if you want it in M, it should be perfectly smooth, so you should get it looked into; also, you should get the cap ring checked!

You paid good money for the pen, and it should be perfect! The Montblanc boutique at Selfridges Manchester should be able to help you with your requests.

many congrats! You have been given a pen that will last you many many years of service.

Thank you.

I remember reading a post by you about the StOD or SteOD hallmark on Montblanc pens, but I can't find it anymore. I have managed to find some clear pictures of the new StOD hallmarks on Montblanc nibs, which I have posted here: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/250098-montblanc-stod-hallmark/

I thought this might interest you.

Thank you very much. I felt overcome with emotion when I received the pen as my parents are not rich so I know the sacrifices they made in order to give it to me.

Many (belated) congratulations on your pen and on your graduation NHsueh. A fabulous reason to give such a wonderful present  A great pen which should serve you well. Congratulations.

The Selfridges website says that there is a Montblanc boutique in Manchester Trafford. http://www.selfridges.com/en/StaticPage/Brand_M/

You could call them up to check though.

The main Montblanc boutique in Manchester was within the city centre Harvey Nicholls store but closed a year or so ago. Great customer service.

I would rate the Selfridges Birmingham MB boutique as better than the one in Selfridges Manchester (Trafford Centre Shopping Centre) - which seems to struggle for staff. Birmingham at least seems to be manned most of the time, seems to have a slightly broader range of stock and at least the manageress there goes the extra mile to satisfy her customers.

I know the D. M Robinson (Altrincham) branch relatively well and though it is but 20 minutes from my workplace, I leave any major purchases (and servicing) to the boutique in Old Bond Street, London.

The Penfriend store at 17 Fleet Street, London is a nice treat to stumble across. Good customer service.

Pavoni.
