Thanks for straightening me out on that. I grew up on the other side of tracks and the expression "Off like a thundering herd of turtles" was occasionally used to express dissatisfaction with the pace of the, ... flock, murder, clutch, brace, band, or peloton when I was a competitive cyclists many years ago.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

It's a slippery slope this Pelikan fancying - my latest is an M101N Lizard which is small and delicate but so far I've not been able to bring myself to actually sully it with ink. However, it is beckoning me with come hither looks so resistance is useless!

A Pelikan M500. A Juicy semi-flex M nib. I have always thought this was one of the most classy Pelikans, and beyond my means. Somehow I was able to make a decent deal for this pen and against all odds, It traveled from France to my little corner of the Pacific Northwest (US) in exactly one week.

Beautiful Pelikan 500, Dr Codfish! Thanks for posting pictures for us to drool over. I normally don't go for gold caps but that is one classy

pairing :)

I could have sworn the 'small' Pelikan stand I saw in a store once was about 3 times this size (maybe there's a bigger 'small' stand?) but this one is just so cute!

Was this the larger one you saw:

Thanks, tasmith! No, it was the same exact bird shape as the one I got (with a pen rest). Either my memory is wrong, or there is one that's bigger!

The base of the stand I have is 1.5 x 2 and what I remembered was a pen stand with a base approx. 4" by 3." I'd go back to the store, but last time

I checked they didn't have it on display anymore...unfortunately they didn't want to sell it the first time around.

M1000 in black & GT with OM nib, to accompany its cousin with OBB.

A sinful indulgence to celebrate my 65th. Darned thing will outlast me, of course.

I love the white Pelikan stand above.

Glenn.
