My M805 Stresemann came in yesterday from Italy! I was surprised to see a large box. I thought for sure that I would get the small paper box. Instead I was delighted to see the round gift box with a bottle of Edelstein Onyx! I inked this beauty up and took it for a test write. It is so smooth. In fact I almost forgot that it was a fountain pen. It felt more like a rollerball. No slow starts, skips, scratchiness. It is the polar opposite of my Namiki Falcon (which I still love). Almost 24 hours of having the pen, and I love it.

I am the proud new owner of a blue striped M405 in medium nib. Since it's my Christmas present, I got to write with it for half a day before flushing it and boxing it back up to let my wife wrap it and stick under the tree. Oh what a long wait it will be...I'm blown away by it. The medium nib is significantly wider than my M205's medium though...

Anyone know where I can buy an M400 nib in fine point? I put a WTB ad up, but If that doesn't work out I'd like some more options...

These are the guys arrived this month :bunny01:

I have a question about the second pen from left, it's a nice grey 400 but it has a discolouration like in the picture due to the ink left inside i believe.

I am trying to accept it as it is cause it is not a colour you come by everyday and it is BB nib, so what do you think i should do, try to embrace or return?

i looked at a little 400 I have, and noticed that the cap covers about that much of the barrel when capped. I am thinking that the short band of color next to the binde is more the original color and that the rest of the barrel has faded, possibly due to light exposure over the years. Personally with that nib I would keep it. It is still a very attractive pen.

Thanks for your reply, before i theorised that the part which stays in the cap stained ink because the cap was full of dried ink when i found it, can it be like that?

I suppose that could be possible, but ask this. If the cap had ink inside it, would it be in constant contact with that part of the barrel, due to capillary action, and not "wick" to a lower area due to gravity?

After paying closer attention to your first statement, I suppose either, or a combination of the two conditions could cause the color difference.

I did notice on my M400 tortoise that that area covered by the cap is slightly darker than the rest of the pen and I think that is due to light as I have not seen any problems of ink collecting in the cap.

I recently picked up a 400NN and an M215 blue/ striped for what I'd consider reasonable prices on e-bay. Still working on cleaning out the 400NN, but I'm looking forward to using it. The M215 is its own story, and may be sent back, sadly, as I really like the design.

Picture is quite poor, sorry-- it's a quick cell pic I took this morning.

But at the moment I have a flock of four: two M215s, an M150, and the 400NN. Small, but growing!

Edit: The M215 is officially broken, so it's being returned. And then there were three... ;)

This forum is going to be the end of me, or at least my pocketbook. I have one of the yellow "CITROENPERS" M 200 coming, as well as a M 215 pen and ballpoint, black with chrome rings around the body. I found prices all over the place on the 215, $100 on the pen from Iguanasell e bay site and saw prices up to around 250 so think I did ok.

From what I can see from your picture, your pen looks more like a faded Green than Gray one to me. True Gray looks like this:

My new Stresemann with my M800 green. Has been with me for about a week but I just today registered it in the collection (have a spreadsheet and give them item numbers). So it is now official...I have the thing, its number is FH0004 (reserved from quite some time after I sold its predecessor). It is going to see action writing Christmas cards next week.

UV bleaching is light exposure, strong sunlight having everything from infrared (heat) waves and ultraviolet, which causes bleaching, sunburn & eye problems (cataracts) and everything in between which is the colors.

You do know they come with a 90 day nib warranty - if you are not happy with the medium go back to the store you purchased it from and get them to fit a fine nib.

Yes...alas, the problem is I love the medium nib too. I just now *also* want a "Fine" for it as well, LOL...

Edit: also it was bought online from Pen Chalet.com, so going back in person isn't possible.
