Waiting for my Nos M400 to arrive, still in cargo:( Does anybody know when this package released? I have only this photo from seller and from the look of it, it is pre 97 but i wonder if it is pre 92 West germany or post 92 Germany?

My first Pelikan in a long time. I used to own a tortoise 400NN (OM) and a forest green 140 (XF) but eventually were traded off in my curiosity for other pens.

A little tarnished, and a crack on the top of the cap, but I got it at a great price, and I really like the slightly flex-y wet XF. It has feedback (pencil-like) which sometimes makes a nice change from my usual preference of a smooth stub/OB/BB.

Quick side question for the knowledgeable - I love the semi-flex on this nib, I was wondering,, How flex-y can Pelikan nibs get?

And I'm definitely going to have to find another tortoise

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

I agree, I think these are great looking pens, I have the M800 (albeit with a custom binde) and the M600 .

Hmm. The Pelikan Hub sounds interesting, I said. I think I'll see if my son is going, I said. It will be fun to get some swag, I said. I don't need Pelikans to go - I'll just have a good time, I said.

I have an M400 blue stripe, an M300 green stripe, and an M805 on the way. I'm selling off all my Pilots, Sailors, and Platinums to pay for this.

I just KNEW you were going to see that. Yeah...let's not talk about this particular flock multiplication at home too much, eh? You-Know-Who would roll her eyes at me a lot...

And in my defense (for which there really is none)...the M805 was a REALLY good deal.

To be honest, I'm pretty envious. I love my M400, and would love to branch out more in the Pelikan brand.

Actually...yes! That still doesn't reduce the glares from the other half of the marriage partnership sometimes.

Each of them was found for less than half of retail and about 75% of typical used price. It takes a lot of patience to get those deals, though...

The latest bird to fly in is an M205 Green Duo highlighter, it came with a 30ml bottle of highlighter ink. As soon as I get a chance I will post a pic.

M805 Stresemann. Not exactly a new pen, but as it has recently been reborn, I think it counts.

I've had it for over six months, but hardly used it. I was surprisingly underwhelmed by the aesthetics (very disappointing), and the EF nib it came with was just awful (tines visibly misaligned on first uncapping) and had to be replaced. The replacement EF nib is OK, but I then acquired a 2B nib to put on the pen, only to be unimpressed by the performance: flow wasn't great and it was, well, boring.

Then John Sorowka did an excellent job of turning the 2B nib into a lovely stub at the London pen show in early October. That has changed the experience of this pen entirely, and it is now a pleasure to use (even if I still find myself much less in love with the aesthetics than I had expected). It's a pity I had to spend extra money on top of an expensive pen to get a lovely writing experience, but on the positive side, I really enjoyed the interaction with Mr Sorowka and know just whom to approach for any future nib-work.
