The 400 I ordered from ebay arrived today

The pencil is in working order. The mechanism in the pen works fine.

It has an OB nib which looks to be in good shape and writes great with a dip test.

The clip was a bit bent (that's already fixed and the nib is after cleaning already more shiny than in the picture).

This is the first time I dabbled in vintage pens, but I am pretty happy and excited about this set.

I'm not sure if two Pelikans count as a flock, but I have two of 'em now. My most recent addition is a Pelikan M200 with italic nib.

You should ask and maybe someone will tell you how.

Oh, what the heck, I will. When you are writing a reply, in the bottom right-hand corner is a button "Use Full Editor." This will allow you to import an image from your files. You then have to click on "Insert in Post" (or something like that) and the link will appear in your reply where you left your cursor. (The image won't appear until your comment is posted.) Pretty easy, but there is an image size limit, so you may have to resize a large image before posting.

Looking forward to seeing your images!

The M200 nibs are similar widths to the 50's era nibs, so go with whatever thickness of 50's era nib you like.

The steel nibs are pretty good and shouldn't disappoint. The plain steel and gold plated nibs are also pretty well the same.

You can always swap the nib with one of your vintage nibs whenever you like.

Unless you want a c/c fill pen, stick with the piston fill models.

Thanks. I ended up going with a B nib. I discovered yesterday that the Goulet Pens Nib Nook tool does Pelikan nibs (even though I don't think they carry the pens anymore) and decided that the EF was a little too spidery looking for me). So the pen has now been shipped and I should be getting it sometime in the next couple of weeks.

That looks a lot like the 400 I bought a couple of months ago, which also (as it happens) has an OB nib. Used the pen this morning for my daily journal entry (at the moment it's filled with Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black; not sure what to use next in it once I finish that fill, which I think will be relatively soon).

Love the pen, but got spoiled by the later model ones that have ink windows....

I just got this old pelikan, it cleaned up nicely, but still needs some cosmetic care (small crack in the cap lip and such), it writes very nicely, a little semi-flex i would say.

And this morning also this, which looks a lot like the first one, but this nib has less flex than the other but still smooth.

I like these pens (100n i think), specially the design with the fluted clip.

They are a bit small for me, but still useable.

I was recently in an antique shop in a small town in Germany, and I found these two pens. See photos below, plus brief description for when the photos disappear.

1. Pelikano, first version (produced 1960-1965, according to the ruettinger-web site)

2. A model I didn't recognise. I bought it because I hadn't seen one before, because it has a good-looking 14c nib, and because it was really not expensive. After looking at the ruettinger-web pages, the most likely candidate is a Signum P560, which I suppose would date it to about the early 1980s. If anyone could confirm, I'd be grateful.

I am going to have to knock out the nib-and-feed of the steel pen, as it is completely clogged up (an overnight soak has achieved nothing). Or perhaps I'll wait until I get an ultrasonic cleaner and try that first?

Anyway, here are the pictures.

Pelikano

Blue body, nib nearly entirely-hooded, matte metal cap with a blue finial, Pelikan beak clip. Nib writes fairly fine, with no flex to speak of and with a small sweet spot, but quite smoothly. It's a cartridge filler, and the body unscrews much closer to the back than usual. (ink is Pelikan 4001 blue-black, injected into an empty cartridge)

Steel pen (Signum P560?)

14cm long when capped, slim steel body and cap, flat black end, and top of cap, with Pelikan logo in silver metal on the latter. Clip is gold plated. Nib is marked 585/14c. I'd say it's a Broad, though there is no size marking. Section is black plastic.

Just completed my trio of amber demos with the addition of the M250.

Left to right: M200 Amber Demo (early 2000's), M200 Cognac Demo (2014), M250 Amber Demo (early-mid 2000's)

And the above Amber M250 is right on the heels of a black old-style M600 that came to me cheap due to it being mislabeled as an M400. It has a nice M nib with the 'PF' marking.

My most recent addition to the flock is one of my grail pens: a minty Pelikan M450 green tortoise with vermeil cap. I had the chance to see this pen up close at a local B&M but somebody bought it before I had the chance to get the money.

Then, after losing many bids on Ebay I finally found one for a very good price at the German site:

fpn_1428174964__m450closed.jpg

It came with a very nice 18C broad nib that will need some tweaking, so I am presently using it with a M600 0.5mm binder stub I bought from a fellow FPN member:

I wish to thank FPN member risingsun for his help and encouragement in searching for this pen.

Everybody here can clearly see I was just "enabling"... But you're very welcome. :)
