My first bird! An M800 in black with a fine nib.

Any tips for a new bird curator? :)

Be careful because it won't be long before you start looking for your second.

Yep, it took me two months to add a red to my green M800 :) .

It's supposed to be my "Fat Tuesday" to carry me through the long fasting of Penten Season which ends in December.

Yeah, I made that up. 😄

It's been roughly a month for me- I think! My second one arrived yesterday. It's a Tortoiseshell 400nn, EF nib with flex. I'm smitten!

A gorgeous black/rhodium M1005 is on its way to me  I can't wait! I hear the M1000/1005 nibs are absolutely lovely. Can't imagine a nib even better than my M800's BB, but I'm looking forward to it all the same.

Arrived today and I love it! I'm really amazed at how much travel the piston gets with so few turns. Actually the whole pen amazes me. Penten Season is going to be tough! 😄

A very humble one, but with a cool design: Pelikan Twist!http://picture.yatego.com/images/5113d9766114b1.0/1411422157_twist-black-kqh/pelikan-twist-fller-silber---schw---no-twist-no-fun-.jpg

Lord, grant me the serenity to avoid the pens I don't need,

the dough for those I need and the wisdom to know the difference.

I have the summer splash and like it. For a $10-20 fountain pen, it's hard to beat. Enjoy yours.

The two on the top are the latest birds landing here, and they will be staying in the collection :) :)

On the left side is a later ( I believe 50´s) 101N Short top cap. I have not seen many of these, not even in pictures on-line. Red Plastic cap and knobs. New logo.

On the right side is a early Pelikan 100N Red ebonite cap and knobs, old logo. Also not an easy find!

Bellow is my show off of the day ;) Some are part of the collection and others like a Magnum and the an older 101 Red short top cap will fly out soon to make room for new additions.

So this is probably the last time they are all together at home.

So many exquisite Pelikans; I had no idea.

I'm getting my first - a tortoise 400NN from 1952 with a flex nib. Can't wait!

1952 preceded the 400NNs, so either date or model are not correct... Would have been a 400 in '52. 400NN started around '56.

Good info here while you wait for it to arrive:

That was my error. I was advised to get an NN and wound up with a 400 from 1952. The seller did not call it an NN, I did. Still learning.
