But I a 400NN, 140, and M400 (old style brown tortoise) coming, so it won't be my most recent for that long.

Splendid! Really spectacular!

I'm embarrassed to participate in this thread as I've been on a Pelikan bender for the month of July. Here is a list of purchases made from 7/1 to now, all at great deals/discounts, and I promise I'm slowing down/stopping for a while. Kind of feel dirty typing it all out. The hard part of it all is hiding most of these from the wife. I'll post in a more dedicated thread pics of the full flock sometime down the road.

1) Souveran M400 White Tortoise w/ F nib

2) M200 Grey Marbled 'New Style' w/ F nib (only made for a very few years in the post-'97 styling)

3) M200 Green Demonstrator 'New Style' w/ F nib

4) M200 Clear Demonstrator 2012 Edition w/ F nib

5) M200 Black Italic

6) 1952 400 Brown Tortoise w/ F Incised script nib

7) 400 NN Brown Tortoise w/ EF nib

8) M150 Black w/ F nib

9) 1990-96 Souveran M400 Brown Tortoise w/ M nib

10) Souveran M405 Solid Blue w/ F nib

11) M200 Yellow Citroenpers Limited Edition w/ M nib

12) M100 White (storm trooper) w/ M nib

13) M150 Burgundy/Black w/ M nib

14) M205 Black w/ M nib

Your Birds are most extraordinary. Also, you are the first person to hide your bounty from your wife. Don't worry, she is probably also hiding something purchased she does not want you to know either. :)

Not new, but a new visual image of my Pelikan 100. The first image is Pointilized in Photoshop, and the second is simply the way I colored it.

Your pen has a Pelikan imprint at the cap sleeve!?! Could you show a photograph of this?

Technically my most recent addition is the one on the current drop at Massdrop that I can't wait to get here. But up to last Christmas I didn't have any Pelikans (only had an Inoxcrome and a Parker sonnet), then I made the mistake of buying the Mount Everest, since then I've acquired a few birds. So, in the last 2 months, in order of acquisition:

- M640 Mount Everest (M)

- M605 Marine Blue (EF)

- M1000 Black (EF)

- M600 Green/Black (EF)

- M200 Clear Demo (M)

- M805 Blue/Black (M) - the one from Massdrop, so still not here.

I also managed to get the wife hooked and she got:

- M400 White Tortoise (EF). Absolutely gorgeous!!

- D400 White Tortoise

- M405 Blue/Black (EF)

The good thing of getting the wife also hooked is that I don't have to hide my new birds . The bad part is that it means less birds for me . Now we are both looking forward to an upcoming trip to the "birdland" to increase the flock a bit.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Here is another brown Pelikan.

Pilot made its first wood pen in 1971. Upper one is the 1st generation (https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/157988-pilot-custom-maplekaede/?p=2936236). Recently, I got NOS pen at 7,000 yen (~$60).

After 33 years, Pelikan made its first (and last?) wood pen, Pelikan Epoch P364 Nutwood (lower one).post-76165-0-29014600-1424595982_thumb.jpg

Cap and tail are matte-finished, matching its body. It reminds me of Faber-castell Classic or CARAN d'ACHE metwood, but their impressions are quite different.

BTW, what tree specifically "nutwood" refers to?

ps

Both pens have "fine" nib, but, Pelikan's is "B" and Pilot's is "EF" to me.

After a beautiful raise at work, I decided to treat myself and get one nice pen. I fully intended to get a MB 149 as I already have an M1000 but somehow I ended up with two extremely beautiful birds. I don't have them yet, will post pictures as soon as I get my hands on them.

One is a 1950s 400 tortoise with a B nib.

The other is the 2011 101n with a B nib.

And now I'm going through the hardest part, waiting!

Walnut tree (Juglans nigra):

Thank you, christof.

...Due to its value, forestry officials often are called on to track down walnut poachers...(Wikipedia)

I just realized why Pelikan chose it from precious woods.

Actually, it looks less like circuitry to me and more like a butterfly's wing-markings. But yes, very good photos showing the aesthetic appeal of this model.

It has been a busy week for additions to the flock. I just happen to stumble upon a bunch of good deals at once and the mail bunched up to deliver them all within the same weeks span. Every one of these goes towards my goal of completing the M100-250 collection. Only 11 to 14 pieces outstanding....getting close after this 3 year journey...
