That travel set is very nice, did you get it with the Toledo or on its own ?

I bought it separately from the M910.

No new Pelikans. I've got four M800s and two M1000s and an extra nib in each type. They write beautifully and will last for longer than I will. I can only use one at a time so there's no rationale I can come up with to buy more.

And... That's the problem with fountain pens. Just when you think you needn't buy another, you're confronted with a beautiful pen at a come hither price and off you go again. There's a Pelikan Souvern M1005 in black with silver trim that is winging its way to me now. (Photo courtesy Pelikan website.)

konis,

Does 'slim' and 'standard' refer to the band's width or the barrel's diameter? I have 5 450s and they all seem to be the same diameter to me, but I don't have calipers so I can't get an exact measurement.

Slim and standard refer to the barrel diameter.
See my last picture. From left side is standard, from right side is a slim.
Slim have lead 1,18 mm diameter, but my standard 0,90 mm.
I don't know if also was produced version standard for lead diameter 1,18 mm.
Pelikan 450 slim and Pelikan 400 NN is a set, but 450 standard and Pelikan 400 too.

Came with a bottle of ink and some paper works..http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/kewlfly/image_zps1ec8e31f.jpg

There are hidden compartments in the mini desk..http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/kewlfly/photo1_zps0a79bd9e.jpg

I understand that the M910 Toledo was sold with this lap desk as a set for American market.http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/kewlfly/photo2_zps5711f05d.jpghttp://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m188/kewlfly/photo3_zpsfee1b3f8.jpg

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.

  • 2 weeks later...

I haven't bought any pens for several years, but my 'newest' addition would be an Athens from the Cities series. I bought the fountain pen and matching ballpoint when they first came out. I love the color and pattern on the pen.

Again, cowboy hat tip to Daeng for his gorgeous pics!

Mine was not the latest purchase, but the last, completing the series. Here is the 'portable' setup.

Congrats Tony on the addition! Superb shot!

Btw, is that an old style M910? Do you now have all M900 & M910s Toledos when you said you have completed the series?

Thanks, Konis!

You yourself have also acquired a few gems recently. :happyberet:

That's a really nice pen soot. And I'm grateful seeing konis' brown tortoises comparo, quite useful, I reckon they deserved a separate thread.

@Daeng, no mate, I collect 400 size, so M700, M710 black, M710 red, M710 yellow.

Beautiful pen, Soot. The light tortoises are on my list of must haves.
