Oh, I love the variation you get with the stub, it's really expressive. Thanks for posting a picture!

I personally can't decide between EF, F, and M for mine... it's such a gorgeous pen I'd love to use it for as much as possible, so I think I'm leaning toward the EF since I tend to write smallish.

I normally write pretty small as well so all my M60x's have EF in them. I had a F at one point, but Pelikans run wide AND wet so it just didn't make a good combo for small handwriting.

Here are some writing samples:

This is SO helpful. I was wavering but especially if it's just me writing in a journal or just jotting things down for myself I tend to go smaller. I like the look of the medium too, but I can always go up a size some day. This was really great, thank you for taking the time to post it. Many thanks!

That's incredible, Christof. So impressed.

I have here a bit of an odd bird that's a new addition to the collection, a brown MC110, from '85-89. While this would have originally had some sort of wide italic 'calligraphy' nib in steel, this one came to me with a less-common steel OB nib. Adds to the intrigue of the pen, along with the long taper of a piston knob. It has a smaller girth, matching the M150 series. Great engraved derby-style cap top as well.

Anyone know why these weren't marked "W. Germany" like the other pens of this era? This one and most of the others I've seen in photos are only marked Pelikan - Germany on the cap ring.

Pelikan did not switch to "W. Germany" until fairly late, sometimes in the early to mid 80's. Not sure when exactly this was, but it had to be before 1987 when the M800, which was marked "W. Germany" came out. I have a very early M400 that I bought in '89 that was marked "Germany", but because it was NOS, I don't know exactly when it was made. Also, back in the late 80's, when I went to buy 4001 ink, the older stock was marked "Germany", while the newer stock was marked "W. Germany."

I have a bunch of birds incoming and I'm very excited. The first of the lot arrived yesterday. It is the black-dark green 'old-style' M250 seen on the right in the pic below. I put it along side my 'new-style' M250 of the same coloration.

Thank you Christof. A true compliment coming from a collector such as yourself.

Not new, but a new visual image of my Pelikan 100. The first image is Pointilized in Photoshop, and the second is simply the way I colored it.

A humble adition to any flock, specially considering the last couple of pages of this thread, but still a Pelikan:

It's the first pen with gold garments that I own, I'm not very fond of gold. But what a great combination of colours indeed. Of course a 400 was in my waiting list, but this acquisition opens a new window for me...

... now I wouldn't reject a pen with gold garments per se.
