Mookli, what's that one on the right (black cap, white barrel with the zig zags)? I don't think I've seen anything like it before, but then I mostly know the striated ones (the ones that just sort of say "Pelikan") to me. And is the green one just to the left of it an M100? It looks a lot like mine, which I got a for a pretty good deal on Ebay last summer.

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

Its a Montegrappa Remiscence, and the "odd man out" on that row. it is missing the cap. I temporally machined a cap from delrin. At some point I will need to make something better. I am thinking ebony and silver in the octagonal design of the original.

The green is a 100, with steel nib, a nice entry level Pelikan.

It has been a while since I've posted in this thread, but it's not for a lack of pen purchases, I've just been too busy. I can recall recently acquiring a solid blue M605, a blue Pelikano circa 1979, and an orange Twist.

What prompts me to post today are two harder to find birds that arrived in today's mail. Oddly, they arrived on the same day despite different ship dates and one coming from Italy and the other from England. The first is a pre-'97 M200 clear demo (F nib) (type II) and the second is a pre-'97 M250 clear demo (B nib). These are some great stepping stones on my way to completing my goals of collecting every variation of the M75-M250 series. Much harder to find than I expected. Only 20 pens or so left out of the 80 some made....

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

I recently purchased a Pelikan M805, blue stripe.... my first high end Pelikan. I also have an M250 w/14c M nib that I am spending more time with. The 805 is breathtaking and a joy to hold and write with. Just the right size for me.... very similar to my 146's.

I enjoy MB 146 pens, Sailor, Pilot and Platinum pens as well. I have a strong attraction to dark red and muted green ink, colors I dislike for everything but FP ink. I also enjoy practicing my handwriting and attempting to improve it. I love the feel of quality paper under a gold nib.

Very soon you're going to have to open a museum in your house and I'm going to be one of the first to schedule a guided tour!

Amazing collection, congratulations.

I took delivery of an old FP/BP set earlier today, in a case. The FP has a black body and a (925) silver cap and trims. The nib is one of the old 18k ones, in Medium. It's my first M-series Pelikan with a metal cap, and I'm very pleased with it (the case is a nice bonus, and the ballpoint is OK, too, I guess).

Not sure of the exact model, though I imagine it's an M450. Here are two pictures (apologies for the poor quality). Note that the cloudiness in the ink window is water vapour, as I have just flushed the pen: in 'real life' it's quite clear. I haven't written with it yet, as I want to clean it more thoroughly first, so no writing sample.

I picked up a P-390, for 20 bucks, I jumped on it for the nib!

I think its the silver Europa model, cartridge filler. I am not very familiar with the "New Classic" line

The nib is a single color 14k BB

It not feeding perfectly, skips on the first fast up stroke. and doesn't like to write fast.

Everything looks OK, I might just use it for a while and let it tell me what it wants.

Pretty little pen if you like skinny, shiny things

Hi,

The other day I was at home and accidentally overheard a conversation coming out of my pen box:

  • Have you heard? last night another Pelikan came in… some sort of pencil, they told me. They are growing numbers man, the drawers below us are getting full of the striped ones.
  • Ah, don’t worry, none of those old pijama pens will come up here.
  • I don’t know man…
  • Look, this is the modern tray, I’ve never seen a Pelikan here.
  • That’s what is bugging me…
  • Relax, we’re modern, we’re big, and we sit in the top drawer, we rule!
  • … who do you think rules more, your triangular cross section or my meisterstuck capband?
  • What, you’re starting that again?!

I lost contact as this stage, I may have made some noise that alerted them, but one thing was getting veeery clear in my mind…

And so my latest came in, a M800 in classic green stripes, check it out!

As someone once said, “I know the voices in my head are not real, but they sure do have great ideas”!

IMPORTANT NOTICE

This story is fictional and serves only to justify the acquisition of a beautiful M800 in green, as if a justification was needed. The contents are of the author’s sole responsibility and do not express the views or opinions of the characters pictured; in fact, I just saw the MB149 discussing nib widths with one of the 400s in front of a cup of tea.

Hi Mookli,

hope my website for NewClassic is interesting for you, please have a look.

Your site is great!, I have been on it before, and have always wanted to complement you on it.

According to your information , I think I have a 380 nib in a 390 body.

Thanks

Mark

New addition: a gorgeous postwar IBIS in outstanding condition and with a factory B nib that makes my knees wobbly... Piston assembly properly reset, nib aligned to perfection, and filled with Waterman Blue-Black. Oh, Baby!
