what do you mean with "undocumented"?

Christof beat me to the punch, in two ways. This truly is an oustanding piece of history and, ....undocumented?

Wow! That is really something!!!

They were considerably less expensive at the intro in 1956. Particularly when 1$ = 4DM.

Here is a page from the intro sales pamphlet for the 400/500 intro.

Okay, now I see what you mean: It's Gray, right?

...at first sight, I was thinking it was seagreen.

Very, very nice!

c.

Just one question: is it stamped with "500" at the barrel?

Thanks, Christof! What I meant by undocumented is that this particular color (grey) in 500 was not recorded in any Pelikan catalogs or documents. The documented 500 were only produced in black, tortoise, light tortoise, and sea green. Thus what I meant by undocumented. But, then again, it's Pelikan. Many variations...

It passed customs without an invoice...

Good one! :lticaptd:

Yes, it's grey. Not stamped with 500 on the barrel. Only "GUNTHER WAGNER GERMANY".

Managed to snag this beauty as new, old stock. M250 in Brown Tortoise. Makes me want a M800 in Brown Tortoise now and wish Pelikan would produce one in the M600 size.
