I tried my first Pelikan today!! A friend gifted me this Blue Marbled, pre-'97 M200! But the weird thing is...it's got a 14k music nib! The nib says "Warranted 14K No 3". I was hoping someone could tell me more about the nib since he said it's a vintage nib.

It's got Diamine Soft Mint in it. It's flexible and has some line variation. A lot of fun to write with and fits very well in my hand!

I'll keep on struggling, 'cause that's the measure of a man.

daenghafez, I'm pretty sure the 500 is a rolled gold or gold-filled, whereas the 600 is solid gold. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right.
Pelikan 500 is a double rolled gold. Pelikan 600 - solid gold.

This is most probably the pen, which is written here : www.ruettinger-web.de

For collectors very interesting is that the models 100 N were produced in the first time still with a hard rubber cap and the old Pelican logo on top of the cap, later than with the new logo.

Hi all. My first posting in this forum. Just got my second Pelikan, an M200 with B nib. NOS from Germany. Fabulous pen, almost too good to ink up...almost but not quite! Can't wait to get time with it this evening!

My first Pelikan is a P30 with Rolled gold cap and a broad nib. A lovely pen to write with, and a great intro to the brand again, after many years! Apologies for no photos but I'm not so technically proficient to take a good photo and upload it. Maybe one day.....

Ooh. Nice. What model is that? I keep thinking I want a striated blue M400, and it keeps not happening.... The pen I got on Ebay over the weekend is actually kinda ugly (solid green with black) but I can't quibble over the price. Any more than I can quibble over the price on the 200 with a nib that's meh at best (as least when compared to my 400) and the Bayer logo on the cap (pen was found on Freecycle by a friend who knows I like pens) -- and that came with the original box.

LOL..nice. SujiCorp12345, I noticed that you are from Markham, Ontario as well. I've lived here for almost 25 years now. I love my Pelikans and they are my daily users...but I've fallen in love with the design and beauty of Viscontis, so I have a few of those now.

I totally forgot this was a Pelikan thread, but hey, technically, this is my most recent edition. LOLOL

Well, the pen I won on Ebay over the weekend came today:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PELIKAN-BLACK-GREEN-GOLD-FOUNTAIN-PEN-EXCELLENT-CONDITION-/111386301228?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=YBygMBx5dbrqjipBqsMo5PfkX2g%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I think it's a 100, but not sure of the age. Found a website where someone was selling what looked to be the identical pen to mine, but the length is a tad different (I've gotten spoiled by the amount of information you can find about Parkers, and all the different variations of each model). It was a good price, IMO, and the nib is interesting -- not 14K, but it *is* marked as what looks to be "1D" , and seems to be some sort of stub (italic) nib.

I believe it is the 100 as well. It could be early-mid nineties. To me, the nib looks like it is engraved with "1.0", maybe an indication of the italic size?

I can believe that, but haven't actually measured. I presume that 1.0 would mean 1 mm?

I am frustrated that I can't figure out how to post photo's here, you'll have t o be satisfied with a link to my flickr photo page here.

I'm much more fascinated by the bread loaves in your photo stream.

Sometimes the cat needs a new cat toy. And sometimes I need a new pen.

I received my new M800 Tortoise w/O3B nib on it yesterday. I can't upload pics to this thread either. Did a little comparison with my 149 O3B.
