Eastern Mystery - Please Help If You Know Anything About This Pen.

I bought this pen off of Ebay. It had a very reasonable price attached to it so I went for it because the nib was described as flexible. I cannot find anything about the pen. It is marked Eastern on the clip and Frawley Pen on the nib. When I searched Frawley I found something about an ink manufacturer that became paper mate but nothing on Fountain Pens.

If any of you know anything about this pen, its manufacturer, etc I will be very appreciative. I would really like to find another pen that looks a little better from the same manufacturer. I dont really care for the looks on this pen but the nib is one of the best I have used.

Thank you in advance for your help. Sorry to impose.

Aloha,
T

Very Nice pen, nice nib.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

All I found (apart from his founding of Papermate in 1949) is that Frawley headed Wahl-Eversharp before founding Papermate (and that Papermate HQ is about a 20 minute drive from where I live... maybe I'll drive by and throw a brick in their office windows then run like h*ll).

You might want to write to the HQ to inquire about the nib to Papermate, as "Eastern Pens" yielded very little results. Worst case you'd get no response, and you might get a bag of Papermate softgrips or something... :P

Believe it or not, the Encyclopedia Britannica has a gret Frawley article. Do you still have your pen?[/quote

I am not sure. I've got most of my collection put away. I may have sold this one as it was a decent nib but had bad ink stains in the cap so I didn't prize it as much as I should have. I'll try to remember to dig out the boxes and have a look.
