I don't understand why Pelikan wouldn't just produce smaller quantities or charge more for broader nibs. One of the best things about Pelikans was the ease of a nib change. Reduce those options and that advantage disappears. But then again, what do I know? I'm only a loyal consumer :rolleyes:

True dat. Sorta like going to a car dealership & always shown the mid-range sedan, regardless of need.

I prefer old big luxury barges or personal cars or muscle cars

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Re: a Pelikan OB, "Oblique Broad", nib (I realize they are no longer available), is that a "left foot" (right hand) nib or a "right foot" (left hand) nib?

Yes, left foot obliques made for right handed users.

I'm not sure if reverse obliques (right foot oblique), are sold as a factory option by most major manufacturers, possibly Mont Blanc and one other that I can't recall. Otherwise if it's labelled as an oblique it'll be a left foot oblique.

It's a boxer.. Amazing dogs, if you can call them that. Personally, I think they are the product of alien experiments to conflate canines, humans and clowns!

I think I recognise your profile pic, Boston Terrier? I'm planning on getting one my self one later this year!

Back in the days of the original 100, right footed obliques were an option;

RM (Rechtsschräge Mittel) Right oblique medium

RB - (Rechtsschräge Breit) Right oblique broad

RBB (Rechtsschräge Sehr Breit) Right oblique double broad

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.
