I'll put in another good word for cutepens - they have great deals, good communication with buyers, and great customer service. Also, i'm continually amazed at how fast their packages get here from India.

I just received my Hero 100 from Isellpens.com, what a nice pen. The pen made it's way to Canada with no problems.

I filled it with Noodlers black a wrote in my Moleskine with pleasure.

Come into my parlor. Heh, heh, heh. Don't resist, just go with the flow. Current bonus offer, choose your own personal ID number of 51 (starting with 33). It won't hurt a bit. You will soon wonder why you ever liked those big, flabby nibbed show-offs. The road to FP nirvana is often rough and uncertain, but, in the end, so simply cleansing. lticaptd.gif lticaptd.gif lticaptd.gif

I see on isellpens that the 616 is available in a regular size and a jumbo size. Does anyone know the mesurements of the jumbo pen?

My newly arrived 616 Jumbo measures 5 7/16 inches in length capped, 4 31/32 inches unposted, 2 15/32 inch long cap, 0.485 inch max. cap outside diameter, 0.455 inch max. outside barrel diameter, and weighs 0.6 ounces (17 grams) dry. Unfortunately, I don't have a regular size 616 to compare. blush.gif

Anyone have any experience of the Hero 832?

Just picked one up on eBay for pennies (impulse buy - no other bidders)

You can find them on ebay and the best seller there is speerbob (or so I've heard)

If you want a 616, I suggest Speerbob - on EBay - he's also on FPN. I haven't seen a 100 on his EBay store though.

However, for about the price of the Hero 100, you can pick up a Parker 21 or even a Parker 51 Special (for a little more).

I don't have a Hero 100, but they better be a heck of a lot better than the three 616s (for the ~$25 they seem to go for) I bought from Speerbob ( a great seller BTW). Though I use the 616s in class to take notes and such, the nibs seem to pick up a lot of crud from the cheap paper you can expect to use on a school setting.

Hey guys do you know where I can purchase a hero 616 or 100? I can't seem to find them on the internet.

I doubt this is a fault of the Hero 616; I used to have this exact trouble with a Sheaffer Imperial Broad (one of the smoothest, best-writing nibs ever made, by any manufacturer) when I was in high school. I think it's just a characteristic of price-point spiral notebooks...

I agree with you. But I also use 3x5 index cards, and other types of paper for class, and I can't seem to pinpoint one type of paper that's at fault. But, I still use the 616 everyday and I carry all three that I bought from Speerbob in case one clogs and refuse to write.

I do have a Parker 21 on its way that I'm really curious to start using and compare with the 616s.

On a side note, I gave a 616 to a classmate and it leaked all over his hand. I traded that one with the one that I was using for about 2 weeks and THAT one leaked all over him as well. WTH? I can only assume he did something wrong, but what? I now have all three back in my possession, and none of the three leak at all. Hmm.

That's probably because none of the three ever leaked at all. He was probably banging the capped pen around, getting ink in the cap, and then getting that on his hands when he uncapped the pens. No pen made will fail to burp in the cap if you bump it hard enough on the cap end...
