The Ink Association Game

Circus is still throwing me....

I have a book of circus posters in front of me. They all have red, and most have elephants. I just can't channel my inky thought.

Circus was throwing me too

Nothing occurred to me immediately, so I went to trying to think of an ink that had either had a very colorful and playful bottle design or label or somehow shaded all three primary colors :lticaptd:

Wow! You're a magician! And if that Montegrappa didn't have such an ugly cap I would be tempted to start saving to get one, I like the barrel and love the blue button, or tailpiece, or whatever the correct term is... blind cap (that isn't a cap?)?

Okay, I'm resisting the temptation to pick an ink that matches Blinky? Inky? (What's the name of your avi again Amberlea?)

Magician: for some reason Diamine Grape, a nice deep purple.

Herm.... new word...

New word: treasure chest

Noodler's Apache Sunset. There's a review of the Pilot Custom 823 by Signum1 done in Apache Sunset where he writes that the 823 holds "2.0ml of liquid gold (ink)." And of course, gold belongs in treasure chests!

Okay, so can get this pen for just over $5750 ... eek and the entire color part is a cap. Here it is in green.

My beloved avatar ... giggle -- didn't start out this way, but I got lots of positive feedback so now it is my official avatar.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Lifeline = Quink Black. It's the ink I use most to test vintage inks, because it's completely dependable.

New word: procrastinate

Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Procrastinate: Edelstein Onyx. It was months before I finally got around to adding a bottle of black to my collection of assorted inks. For a while I wasn't even going to bother, but eventually I got yet another erratic urge, and was surprised it was for black.

New word: father

Father: Noodler's bulletproof black. My gift to my father for his birthday was a fountain pen and Noodler's bulletproof black. I wanted something he can write his checks with :) and prove my mom wrong in that you can use fountain pens to write checks!

New word: demonstrator

MONT BLANC "LEONARDO".

Because Divinci was an inventor and his thoughts soared like a BIRD.

Didn't mean to get fancy. Just thought I might need to explain how I came up with MONT BKANC LEONARDO, from Bird.

What's the new word?

He obviously wrote it in invisible ink, but we already had Blue Ghost so

= Noodler's Whiteness of the Whale

Sticking with the circus theme: trapeze artist

I am no longer very active on FPN but feel free to message me. Or send me a postal letter!

I hear trapeze artist and the song comes to me:

he flies through the air with the greatest of ease, he's the daring young man on the flying trapeze.

So... in the daring vein:

Noodler's Widow Maker.

New word:

Still with the circus, the color I was searching for before:

Pelikan Brilliant Red

New word: Traveling

Traveling: Diamine Ochre, the colour of the suitcase I left home with upon fleeing the nest. A soft-case, PVC / faux leather, wheel-less affair that has since long been thrown away after the buckle flaps split... or is it still in an attic in London?

Back to the circus for another new word: clown

Back to the circus for another new word: clown

Higgins Eternal Black. All I've done is clown around with it in a dip pen.

Explosive egress from the circus:

CANNON

CANNON (all caps): Private Reserve DC Supershow Blue. The reason being that it's blue with a PUNCH. No one can mistake it for any other color and I would like to think the red sheen it has is from the blood of its (?) enemies.

Actually I couldn't think of anything so I just chose an ink I have.

Next word: Lunar Eclipse

Lunar Eclipse = J Herbin Poussiere de Lune

Cannon ball = ?

Cannon ball: Organics John Hancock. A silvery black, like a virgin cannon ball that hasn't yet had a chance to rust.

Helmet = Noodler's Heart of Darkness. I immediately thought of the dark black of Darth Vader's helmet.

New word: Darlin'
