Sober: Private Reserve Ebony Brown - it looks like a strong cup of black coffee to me.

New word: Worth

Worth: Franklin-Christoph Olde Emerald. From the description: "You'll think you are writing with old money with this ink." Link to my review.

New word: Consolation.

New word: Consolation.

Iroshizuku Kiri-same. I can imagine I could drink a bottle of the stuff as a teary balm for the melancholy.

Simple: J Herbin Perle Noire. The perfect black.

New word: Visionnaire B)

Noodler's Apache Sunset. The images promise so much more, but in practice I can't bring out those colors with the pens I have.

MAYBE = Noodler's Merlot (still trying to decide whether or not I like the ink enough to get a full bottle).

Aurora Black, mostly because of this: http://damon-young.blogspot.nl/2010/02/write-tools-17-steve-light.html . I just love simple tools that one is completely familiar with. I really enjoy watching people work with their favorite camera, handle a sailing boat with ease, play a musical instrument. Damon's entry about Steve Light is one that, for me, applies to using fountain pens to create art.

Unlimited = vintage Quink Violet (because I have an 8 oz, unopened bottle that I got on Ebay).

Okay, technically it probably *is* limited, but it's enough in that it's going to last me a good long time once I crack the cork, as it were.

New word: frigid (the high in Pittsburgh tomorrow is supposed to be around 24° F, and Thursday's is going to be I think 22°....

Frigid: Omas Grey - it's the colour of the frozen river, icy mist, and hoar frost here this week. We're currently at -40° F and C.

New word: Amplified

Amplified -- seeing the tubes in your avatar and listening to my iPhone connected to crappy little speakers, I almost dare not answer this one. Baystate Blue seems to be the obvious choice, but since I've never used it, I'm going in quite an opposite direction and pick Montblanc Ink of Joy. Such a lively colour orange!

New word, probably in further breach of proper audiophile etiquette: loudness!

Ah, Ink of Joy is very fitting, indeed!

From this audiophile's perspective there is nothing inappropriate about loudness at all. :) I do think this word brings to mind Diamine Hope Pink - a searing, loud, and impossible to ignore colour if there was one.

OOOOOOOO Jazz is smokey and blue .... It can start on any note, goes down smooth, and never comes up.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

What a nice color! Did you draw your avatar with it?

Swing! Noodler's Pinstripe Homage, exclusive to the now defunct Art Brown. I don't know if FPH picked this one up the way they did Manhattan Blue.

Noodler's Operation Overlord, because the sound of the battle of Normandy was probably less than pleasing to the ear...

Trippy - Caran d'Ache Sunset. The colour changes in this ink with a juicy, broad tip are mesmerizing.

New word: Syncopation.

I had to think about this ... something blue and unexpected ... Mont Blanc Blue Diamond. It had great shading, differs per paper and pen.

And on a totally different note....

Yes. I was doing a review. I didn't remember that one of the characters is "Inky" and since ghosts are also called "shades" I thought it was funny.
