The Ink Association Game

Swashbuckling = J Herbin 1670 Bleu Ocean (for his adventures travelling)

How about associating with famous people? Is that allowed?

New word: Reminisce

J. Herbin Lie de Thé -- the colour, a cup of tea, relaxing, thinking, writing, ...

Dang, you stumped me .... come to think of it, stumps have putty color. Now I'm going to have to look through my ink samples.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Hah! I didn't look through samples -- just through the Goulet Pens swabs on their website (okay, it might count as cheating, but I knew I wasn't going to have anything remotely like that in *my* stash, which is of course not anywhere near as vast as hers...).

Putty = De Atramentis Maron (it's the closest I could find to the color of putty, although J Herbin Cacao du Brasil is a good runner up).

New word: masterpiece (sorry, was just watching a rerun of _Inspector Lewis_ on _Masterpiece Mystery_, but "mystery" was too obvious a word to put forward ;)

I fear I might have missed the point (or meaning) entirely, but... Noodler's 54th Massachusetts

Ignorance - Lamy Blue because you'd have to be ignorant to think it is a nice colour. :-)

Mountains - because I'm off to Queenstown, NZ for 2 weeks

Hope you have a stellar time there!

New word: GLASS

Iroshizuku Asa-Gao; my first and only Iroshizuku, so far. The elegant glass bottle is definitely part of the allure and the price. I was looking at that seller on ebay who will transfer the inks to plastic bottles to reduce the shipping charges, and found that I didn't regard the ink as appealing, that way.

Indecision: J. Herbin Vert Empire - I keep putting this ink in my cart but I can never seem to decide whether or not I really want to try it.

Oh but you do! It is a lovely ink!

Mire = Noodler's Manjiro Nakahama Whaleman's Sepia - a muddy messy colour that I still somehow like.

Coming up to Halloween, so

Spooky - Orange Crush -- because it disintegrates in the bottle and has been known to show ink crud.

Good Vibrations -- Organics Studio Emily Dickinson, because it is the most dayglo-60s color I can think of.

New word (because I'm currently watching the new episode of "Dr Who Revisited"): EXTERMINATE!

This looks like fun so I think I'll throw my hat into the ring:

J. HerbinAmbre de Birmaine (aka Dalek Gold if you ask me)

New Word: Lush (EDIT: maybe I should explain myself since this would otherwise be a strange choice for this time of year, I've been watching a lot of Mushi-shi lately and it's a pretty big theme there)

Lush: J. Herbin Vert Olive of course!

Now think about Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy...

"Ravens play with lost time."
