Congratulations, and I hope and pray that he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Glad he's doing well.

Relieved: Purple Heart - because the injured soldier survived.

New Word: Recovery

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Congrats Ruth - sending healing thoughts your and his way!

Aurora Black. I don't know what they put in that ink, but it seems to give a silkier ride than any other ink I've tried, including my Kiwa-guro, Asa-gao, and Eel Gruene Cactus.

Optimistic - Akkerman Orange. What a wonderful cheerful color. It's always makes me feel optimistic.

Eligible: If defined as desirable as in "eligible bachelor" then Private Reserve Chocolat is the ink that comes to mind.

Sailor Kiwa-guro black. Just memories of a theology class I once took.

Akkerman #7 KoninginneNach-Blauw (Akkerman's was the only brand I could think of offhand that actually numbers their inks as well as giving them a name -- although in retrospect I guess that Organics Studio does sometimes as well...).

Splendo(u)r: Iroshizuku Ku-jaku, because what's more splendid than a peacock?

New word: Tabby

Seems like a Tabby would have to be an ink with a sheen.

From Not Bob

Here's my photo of Pilot black ink sheen:

fpn_1362106835__blk_pilot_shn.jpg

This from a 1.5mm Pilot Parallel Pen inked with stock black Pilot cartridge ink on Tomoe River white paper.

In daylight on CF paper, the sheen appears to be a silver and is very difficult to discern, even with a mag glass. With my camera, TR paper, and a fluorescent lamp, I was quite surprised to see how well sheen shows up.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
