I like colorful inks in black pens. My favorite combo to date is Noodler's Apache Sunset in a black Pilot Custom 74. Here is an older pic for some brownie points. Please see #5 associated with the right most vertical pen.

My ink deployment in black pens at the momnet is:-

  • M1000 inked with MB Midnight

Right now my stand outs in Black FPs' are the two MB blues, Royal and Midnight, with the Irish Green not far behind.

hm...MB Midnight looks fantastic...and I want to love it... but I am just afraid of the iron gall content.

I love how Yama Guri comes out of my Waterman Le Man 100, and Lie de Thé has a permanent home in my Pelikan M400... Both black with gold trim. My Waterman Lauréat is stuck with a black Quink only to see if it stops gushing every time I uncap it, like it does with Vert Empire. I'm waiting for Ama Iro (light blue) to arrive but I can't imagine using it with any of these pens...

In my red Ferrari pen there is Akkerman China Town Red and in my black MB146 there is Visconti Black.

Kind regards,

I may try Diamine Eclipse in the future...dark black with a tinge of purple might look pretty cool!

my black Waterman Phileas (M) currently has Akkerman Voorhout Violet in it. Had Shocking Blue in it for a while and the Violet in my Al Star with 1.1 nib, but like the Shocking Blue in it better.....

My current favorite ink for my MB 146 is a custom mix of Yama-budo and Ku-jaku that looks a lot like KTC, only with much better flow:

Err....don't exactly have a picture of the pen, but, here's a link to a Google Image. Does that count? XP

EDIT: Looks like the OP has found her combo. Nice to see it's purple. They go so well with black pens, IMHO. =)
