Need Help With Identification Of Tombow

Recommended Posts

I recently came across a Tombow pen that I'm looking for more information on. It appears to be brand new in box, or if not new then very lightly used. After a few internet searches it looks like I may have the discontinued Zoom Mano model, but there is very little information on this doing simple google searches. I'm considering selling this pen but I'm unable to determine a proper value. Any information you can provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

Definitely hold on to it until it's identified. I'm a fan of Tombow's design collections and I've never seen it before so I guess it's at least somewhat rare.

Try using the google translate bookmarklet and some boolean operators because I saw several pages in Chinese and Japanese in the results on a cursory search (on mobile so I can't help much more than that right now).

Hello mlenow. As you stated, this is a Tombow, Zoom Mano pen. It looks similar to mine, which is gray plastic, but the lighting on the photo makes it look darker.

It is a circa 1994 pen, which was sold at least to 1997. It takes Parker/Fisher ballpoint refills.

The list price in 1997 was $60, but with discounts, was commonly sold for $45 at that time.

Hope this helps.

This was part of a series that Tombow did using Spanish designers. I have two of the series including a red Mano (I also had a gray but sold it a few years ago). I cannot remember the name of the other model I have but it is thin, metal, and looks a little like a spear...
