P.w. Akkerman

A while back I participated in an ink buy for P.W. Akkerman, one of the bottles I received did not come with a marble or ball that allows the ink to stay at the top of the bottle. I was told that a marble would be forwarded to me but that was about 2 months ago, and I realize that nothing more will be forwarded to me, so my question is simple; if I get a marble and insert in the bottle, will it allow the ink to stay at the top of the bottle for the intended result? If so, what kind of marble should I be looking for, standard or what? Any help would be much appreciated.

That is exactly what I had to do for one of my Akkerman bottles that came without a marble. Just find a marble that is big enough not to stick in the throat of the bottle. Because the throat tapers, many different sizes should work fine.

Weird. I wonder how many times something like that happens- the bottles not having a marble.

Sorry - I'm the theoretical marble sender. We asked Akkerman to remove the marbles from the bottles before shipping across the ocean. The breakage was due entirely to marbles hitting the glass. 150 ml of ink (any color) is very messy.

Akkerman placed the marbles inside the box and we posted the information on the thread, but some people still "lost their marbles". (Yep, I wanted to use the phrase).

I would suggest using a marble that has no coating on the outside. The exterior of the marble should be clean glass. That's it. Nothing special. The original marbles were called "purees" when I was a kid but I think you could do most marbles that are available at the dollar store.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).
