I've been having fun testing them out with a dip pen on different papers - such a range of gorgeous colours!

Does anyone know if they actually are made by Diamine, as I've seen a couple of people say on FPN, or is this just a rumour? If so, I'd love to see if they could be cross-matched to Diamine inks, and therefore be more easily acquired.

 

One thing has surprised me, I love Mauritschus Magenta! I don't normally like pinks, but that's such a strong colour with no hint of wishy-washy-ness to it, I've been using it in my TWSBI mini, with a 1.1mm ink, it's like summer on my diary page :)

By the way, Fiona, I love how you also included a dot on the top of each vial that has the color sample. Very helpful when storing the vials. :)

Really cool idea. I shive only thinking she wrote 900 dots, 900 labels, filled 900 vials, etc.

Good evening all,

 

Thank you for all the good wishes. Just for anyone seeing this thread now, all the samples have been claimed. I have two sets still to go out, but those people know when to expect the box of wonder.

 

If any one is thinking of running this themselves at any point, there are a few things that I have learnt. An average of 8-9ml of ink was lost in the process, so work with the assumption that only 28 sets will be avalible (even at that 3 bottles would have been short so be aware of that when stating how much will be sent out).

 

Tonight my husband and I were trying to work out the man hours involved, and we are not quite sure of the exact number of hours, but we think it was between 35-42 hours between us to get it done. I am not saying this to get sympathy or a medal- simply to enlighten those who may come after. Besides all of you can see the wonderful box Michael made me. I also bought me the diamine music set as a little addtional reward as I felt very generous :)

 

A few things did not arrive here as planned and some costs went up, so although I planned to buy more packing material I recylced as much as I could to keep to the budget. If I had not done this we would have been just over budget. When stating costs for other counties please remember that exchange rates change (some days more than others I was concerned about the costs quoted to the USA.)

 

Lastly when shipping empty Akkerman bottles take out the marble (one bottle suffered on it's way here and one from here to it's destination). Make sure all the lids of vials are screwed on extra tight (one leaked a little leading to a game of which ink is which for one poor member).

 

I hope that helps anyone looking to do this in the future. Go on, someone must want to, there are a few people who would have joined here once this one closed.

I have now done so and he is confused by this. So I had to forcefully insist on him accepting the thanks. I hope that meets with approval :)

 

The amazing thing is, the cats did not get inky at all in the process. Wonders will never cease.
