Visionnaire Fountain Pen

You should really put it at Kickstarter.. just for the fun of it. And if it turns out people are actually backing it, you make a nice statement about marketing ridiculous things. Just kill it after a while. That would be a proper eye opener I guess...

Further to materials for support, I have completed the video to accompany the KickStart Project, although I have taken an alternative creative route to dramatize the worth of the Yes, I Can.

While I have not at this point prototyped the 'demonstrator', I hope you will agree that the concept of the 'invisible hand' offers an attractive alternative. I believe it justifies the Yes, I Can initial pricing and the simple yet complex, cooperative yet individualistic, socially progressive yet market-driven character of our target customer.

Awesome movie Dick. This is why someone making a FP from scratch would need a lot more than $37 to do a pilot production run!

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE ...

Other colors are on the drawing table: Ol' Blue, Green with Envy, Purple Cow, Browned Off, and Seeing Red are just a few to be offered when production has been solidified.

And more good news: Thanks to our innovative design, no cartridges, sacs, levers or eye-droppers are needed with the Yes, I Can! The instrument comes complete with a supply of writing medium sufficient to the lifetime of the Yes, I Can ( if not your own)!

And in yet another design breakthrough for those who would like to broaden or narrow the breadth of their writing experience, I am proud to offer our unique Nib-on-Demand. This innovation does away with the need for an array of expensive handground, nib-meister supervised, iridium treated metallic points!!!

The Nib-on-Demand will be available when ordering the Yes, I Can at the very reasonable price of only $19.95 … far less that the cost of one of the specialty nibs needed for inferior writing instruments!

Thank you for the interest in this product-of-the-future. Please look for my presentation on KickStart!

I quite like mine. Its nice - feels solid and fits nicely in my hand. There are no cosmetic blemishes. The nib is smooth and writes between a fine and a medium. I did not have any problems starting it. The line is just wet enough with PR tropical blue.

I have also spent more for less and am quite satisfied with my pen.

I dont think it will launch a thousand ships but it feels like a solid honest pen and I will put mine in the "rotation"

I like mine as well. No loose-fitting parts. Cap clicks into place nicely. I didn't have any problems initially getting the ink to flow. The only problem I have with it is that it seems to lay down quite a bit of ink using the supplied cartridges. I haven't used the converter yet as I'm still researching my ink options. I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to FP's so I don't have much to compare this to but I'm satisfied with it considering the cost.

If you plan on using the pen for daily use than definitely use the converter. It is good to carry cartridges in your travel bag, unless you have a small travel ink well.

Drawing ink into the pen is another beautiful part to FP usage. Refilling the ink is a nice little break from the day, even if it is only for a minute :wallbash:

What do I do about this? Mine has always had nib creep, but now it has gotten to worse and not enough ink is getting to the tip to write. My inclination is to try to flush and clean it and see if that fixes it. This largely coincides with running the ink out of my first cartridge and putting in a new one.

Nib creep should never affect the pen's ability to write, I've had worse nib creep from some inks, it sounds like your pen is either clogged or the nib is somehow faulty, try cleaning it out again and check if the slit of the nib is tapered but not touching

Another FP convert here, I haven't even received the pen yet, but after following this thread for a while, the KS comments and youtube vids I have purchased a Lamy Safari as I am predicting the Visionnaire is going to be nowhere near the quality it was claimed to be.

The Lamy is a pleasure to write with :D

Safari love! *high-fives stretts* Also, :W2FPN:

The bright side is, if you get one of the visionnaires that work, you'll have a pen you can throw in a bag and won't mind losing.

So I am sure most of you are aware of the second visionnaire project - the visionnaire notebook, which was to be made by Celine, an LA artist. Interesting progression on that one. Someone asked some questions regarding the project and 'BHG Design' replied saying:

"@Jeffrey, This campaign is not associated with Morgan's. Please address your concerns to his Kickstarter. This Kickstarter is to fund a handcrafted notebook that I personally put my heart into. Thank you.

Celine

Turns out, Celine never even posted that, as she commented later:

" It was either never told or it was never made clear to me that they would sell pens as part of our book auction, and I've never posted a comment as BHG Design. I would never make the clearly false claim that "this campaign is not associated with Morgan"."

She says she will no longer be making the notebooks for the campaign, so I am interested to see what will actually happen now? If she has no control over the page, will Morgan simply continue the campaign and take the money anyway? Will he source a cheaply made notebook? Will Kickstarter even listen to the multiple reports made on the project?

This is as good as any soap opera...

I feel very sorry for Celine; I hope she manages to escape being tarred with the same brush as Morgan just because she didn't know who she was getting into business with.

It's been my go-to source of low-grade internet drama for weeks now. IMHO, people need to be screen-capping that page before Morgan and co make the false Celine post go away.

The page is still there--I reached it by steps from the original pen project--but it's now canceled. "Funding Canceled Funding for this project was canceled by the project creator 15 minutes ago."

Certainly great fun to follow the saga. I wrote an email to Kickstarter asking for an explanation as to why they hadnt pulled the project sooner. Looks like Morgan got in before them, keen to hear back from KS though, would love to get a response

My guess is that KS sent him a note asking to pull the project or they will within the next 24 hrs.

Or he realized the gig was up and people were onto his crafty ways.
