Montblanc Great Character - Da Vinci

Skeleton is appealing to look at but the other two seem more like NASA commemoratives. I love large pens, but that huge step would stop me even if it were a gift. What is MB thinking?!!!

I don't think pictures really translate as to how big this pen actually is. Also, I think MB is just trying to sell pens to the collector, rather than the user. For the same reason they would put 100 diamonds into a pen. That type of pen really would not be a daily user.

I LOVE the Charlie Chaplin pen, but in all honesty, would I be using it as a daily driver? I would probably think not.

In order to appreciate the sweet, you must truly taste the bitter....

After the Montblanc Website the Lennon is not from the Great Character Line but from the Donation Pen Line.

I dont understand why even some from Montblanc says that the Lennon is Great Character.

After the MB Website the Great Characters are 1. Gandhi, 2. Hitchcock, 3. Einstein and now the Leonardo (i am happy about this because i want one complete collection and the Lennon is not my taste)

I've been writing a piece of music dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci for over a year now. He is a great hero of mine. It's over 40 minutes in length, and to be played at the Boston Conservatory next year. I've been saving up to buy the Leonardo from Montblanc. I know everything about this pen, how it was made, and what each piece of it's construction means and what it meant for Da Vinci himself. Unfortunately I fell down stairs at my last job and damaged my spine and my knee. I was fired that same day. No one seems to want to hire a college kid with a cane, and all of my money goes to doctors and bills now.

Please appreciate the new Leonardo. It is dedicated to a great man, and is a beautiful work of art intended to represent art itself. To have the money to just 'have' this pen is something I will probably never know. Please, just do this poor sap a favor and look up what the mirror means if you haven't already-not just what it means for Montblanc. Why aluminum, why the etchings, and why the designs? It hurts me to know that these things are being overlooked here. Please forgive me if you already know these things :) You must then know what a beautiful pen you own!

Enjoy the pen, and please try to do a review. I would love to this what this pen can do.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident, and that you won't be able to bought the Leonardo for the time being. I'm sure that you get well soon and in the future you'll get the opportunity to get one.

I understand that for some people the design is not to their taste; however I can tell you that is a great pen, is light (especially comparing it to the A. Einstein, that is the heaviest pen I own) and the grip of the pen is large enough that the crown motif is not on the way of my fingers. I also like the bat wing engraving in the metal grip and the working cog in the clip is very nice!!!

I'd never write a review, Kevin, but I just took some pictures and I will try to do one.

I like the black Sforza too. As a collector and writer, I think I also prefer the older ones like Medici,Alexander the Great, etc. Yet I think the new great character series would like to transfer some more new modern design different from the classical WE and PoA. Now I am looking forward to seeing the next year's great character just like WE.

Hi Mjchuang,

Can the Da Vinci be posted? Thanks.
