Picasso Blue Ink Review

Hello!

I got this ink yesterday from the same store as the pen (Picasso 916, read the review here) and decided to do a review. It was cheap at 16 RON (3.5 Euros or $4.6)

I like the colour (It's darker in reality). It's almost the same as the Parker Quink but flows better in the 916 (resulting in a darker, wetter line). It's erasable with an eradicator and not very water resistant. The dry time is acceptable. It has a faint odor, nothing unpleasant. i don't know how fade resistant it is. Overall I'm very satisfied with this ink.

I bought a couple of bottles of Picasso ink in black while in Beijing last summer and I wish I'd gotten more. At around $4 or 5 US, it was pricier than the other Chinese inks I picked up there. However, the ink's not bad and the bottle alone is easily worth the price. It's clearly knock-off of the Parker Penman ink bottle--complete with handy filling well--except that it's oval in shape where the Parker is round. Interestingly, the Picasso image on the cap of mine differs from this one; perhaps it depends on the color of the ink. One more note: the Picasso image on the top is covered with a raised, transparent plastic disk--vs. it's being simply a paper sticker that might peel off. This is easily the classiest presentation of a Chinese ink that I've encountered (with the now-hard-to-find Duke bottles coming in 2nd). In sum, these are great containers that I'll reuse after the original ink's gone.

Yes the bottle is very nice. I think they might have changed their logo a bit, because the pen has the same logo on its box and on the cap aswell, so does the ink. It now has "PICASSO --1881-- picasso art collection" instead of picasso's signature.

the bottle is very close in resemblance to the older bottles of Parker Penman. Thanks for the review

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Thank you for the review. I've looked at this bottle on ebay for a while now and just never pulled the trigger because I figured I wouldn't actually dig the ink. I appreciate you taking the time and effort for the review. Thank you Rocky for the update. The last time I saw the Duke bottles, was at Bertram's Ink well.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I just opened a bottle of this ink that I bought several years ago in Shanghai. The blue is color is quite nice and the bottle is really nice to have on the desk.

I'm very pleased to read this.

It's a respected ink here in China.

The blue color is pleasing.

The distinctive bottle adds a certain something to a writing desk.
