An Ink The Colour Of Perrier Menthe!

I'm looking for an ink the same hue as perrier et menthe, which is perrier with mint syrup. J Herbin has a hue named Diabolo Menthe, but it's not even close.

Clearly, two different colours. Does anyone have suggestions?

I have, but the swatches on the website don't really match the colours I get out of inks, for some reason. Rose Cyclamen turns a lot darker in my pens, and Hyacinth from de Atramentis looks much bluer on the website.

Hi,

 

I do not have a wide array of Green inks, but amongst those I have the recently discontinued Caran D'Ache Amazon (if any available) or Sailor Jentle Epinard come to mind. Both have a pleasant vegetal aspect and are good performers.

 

SJE is reminiscent of its namesake, so may not be so herbal, but a drip of Yellow may bring it closer to what you desire.

I can't really help you to find that exact color, but I recently posted here when I was looking for a specific ink color too (the color of the water surrounding the islands in the West Indies), and found folks here glad to help. I was able to narrow by choices considerably and finally placed an order for Diamine Marine. Diamine has so may great colors, that's where I would start my search too, if I were you.

My attention was grabbed by the mention of Perrier-Menthe. A French colleague said she usually orders a Vittel-Menthe... and she always calls it a Vittel-Menthe. She made the mistake of ordering one in Evian-les-Bains.

Maybe, with a drop or two of turquoise and a few drops of good ol' water, it might turn out to be a nice color match...

I have found that looking at swabs is not overly useful -- the color seldom matches what comes out of a pen. You would do better to look at the written name of the color over the swab on the Goulet website samples.

As for finding the color match, sorry, haven't a clue -- I don't have a lot of greens in my ink stash, because I haven't found a whole lot I like.

I call it perrier-menthe because I use Perrier, not non-carbonated water. I've used Pellegrino when I didn't have Perrier on hand but it just doesn't taste the same.

 

 

And where can we get the Perrier Menthe in the US?

 

No idea. I have my French friend send it to me by the box, twice a year, usually right before summer. I've offered it to some Americans before but all I got was "ew, it tastes like toothpaste", so I'm guessing the flavour is unpopular here. I've never seen it in the US.
