Le Tigre Baby (Made By Conway Stewart)

Here is my newest find. A small pen of about 12 cm made by Conway Stewart in the 50s for the Belgian brand Le Tigre (Etablissements René Kintz). It has a nice monogram CS on the lever of the pump and on the top of the clip. On the body is a faint engraving with two tiger heads and quite some text.

The nib is signed "Le Tigre 14 ct 1st Qual".

I have no idea what type of Conway Stewart it might be.

The lady I got it from got it in the early 50s as a present for her first communion. It came from the local high end stationer in the main street of Anderlecht.

Does somebody have an idea on the type and if this was custom made or just rebranded?

regards

Lode

I have a black Le Tigre No. 120 which is one of my favorite vintage CSs. It is a big pen. I have seen several models of this pen.

I'm not sure what you mean by "rebranded." Do you mean were these regular model pens just given the Le Tigre stamp? I just don't know.

No it's sort of OEM. A company that existed already in 1918 started selling fountain pens made by Conway Stewart and used the British origin as a kind of ingredient marketing I guess. The registered the "Le Tigre" brand in 1918. I wonder if they had a say in the specs and the colors or if it all came from the same line.

this one is particularly small. In England its called a dinkie pen.
