Best Place To Buy Fountain Pen Stuff In Stockholm?

Hello guys and girls!

In a week I'll be leaving Iceland to stay in Stockholm for seven weeks to write my BA thesis in Philosophy.

I write everything with pen and paper first and then type it on the computer. Therefore I was wondering what is the best place to buy ink and paper in Stockholm since I'd rather not pack the bottles I already own.

So what stores to you recommend I pay a visit to?

All the best, Snorri

Hi Snorri!

I live in Stockholm, and I buy my inks and paper online.

For paper, you can order Rhodia blocks and note books from this swedish webshop at a good price.

This paper shop in the old town of Stockholm had some ink when I visited it last year, but I don't remember what it was...seem to recall that it was a bit pricey though. Oh, they sell Conqueror paper and envelopes, if you want some nice blank sheets for writing a letter.

Then there's this webshop that sell ink.

Here's a webshop that sell Pelikan ink, although they are moving to a different warehouse, so they are selling out their stock at discount prices...not much left now, but I expect they will stock up anew once they have moved.

Unfortunately the best source for ink was stylos.se, but Niklas is closing it due to lack of time :(

One source of cheap paper is Akademibokhandeln - while many sell a type of paper called "kollegieblock" (a4 ring bound), theirs is the most fountain pen friendly I've tried.

The staff at NK papper seem knowledgeable, but prices tend to be a bit high, which is partially explained by their location: inside NK in central Stockholm, a place traditionally aimed at the well to do.

Definitely try Pen Store. Their staff is great, and though they don't have that big of a selection of pens outside Lamy (they're really big fans of FPs though, I've spent a few afternoons chatting about pens with the two guys behind the store) their ink selection is decent(Sailor inks!) and they've got the best assortment of notebooks in town.

Nordiska Kompaniet, a fancy posh department store has a stationary department. good inventory as well. If you're looking for a Mont Blanc or a Pelikan, this is your only choice. The staff's really nice and knowledgeable.

Both stores have staff speaking english as well.

I think most of their prices are fair - Lamy pens and their selection of more "lower-shelf" ink such as Pelikan, Lamy and Waterman are priced pretty fairly. And besides, if you pop in now for their sale you can pick up an Omas 360 Mezzo for about 1380 SEK - that's pretty darn good. (that's just a bit over two hundred bucks for all the yanks out there.)
